Could also brush up on my dropdecks (both my IS and clan ones are probably a little outdated at this point.)

So It might be a few weeks yet before I can do another session.
That said...
I did some training weekend just passed with a unit which was good, they have a lot of potential and are actually receptive to feedback/training and more importantly the how/why things work the way they do in MWO. Gave them a bunch of private lobby training exercises to work on after picking out the weaknesses realatively easily.
I reckon I can turn them into a 12-man that should be mid-level in ~3 months and that is starting essentially from a fresh base and with fresh players. Then it's just up to them to get the teamwork side of it together. So that is good to see!
If people want/need coaching just hit me up and I will do the best I can.

Gotta face it, MWO is a shadow of what it was 18 months ago due to a raft of really poor/bad decisions and half-baked implementations and many, many good players simply giving up.
Not to mention the inabilty to get balance right since Skill Maze (which was apparently meant to make it easier?).
Alas I will still do what I can. If it means some better matches then that's good enough.

I am going through ASH's training but am having troubles with getting reliable erll practice in live gameplay.
Would anyone be interested in some erll lobby practice with me? Send me a Pm and we can coordinate if you are down for it.
Thanks!

Disabusing them of that notion is the first step on their road to recovery.

So not a lot of training.
Give it a couple of weeks and things will return to normal and I can do some more!

ASH, do you run IS or Clan or both?
I and a Clanner friend of mine would like to train with you when you have time.
I've done over 1,000 sieges alone. There are some problems I have that you will not be able to fix but I want to improve and no one else is doing it.
I'm also up for lobby training if anyone wants.

Lobby training is probably a good place to start and I can give you a bunch of stuff to work on/practice.
I can run anything though although, after the patch in 3 days... Honestly FP will be dead with the Clan Laser nerf. Everyone will stack IS and it'll be ghost drops for days... So not sure on what will happen there (it really is, game breaking).

A RL Friend an me are interested in FP.
We are at the very start of our career and the way is long.
Never the less we wanna go into the right direction.
A lot of information seems outdated on the forums.
Where to start?

Get at least 8 mechs built out (for either IS or Clan) and then get stuck into it all.
The advice in this thread so far is amazing, albeit it a little disorganised. The info in this thread isn't dated and, for the most part, won't be any time soon.
Once you've got 2-3 months under your belt and averaging 200 match score in Quick Play, then you've got some base knowledge to go from. I mean part of it is just playing the game and learning the maps. That I can't teach you as you gotta semi experience it for yourself.
After you have read the thread, bang up some questions you have. Go from there.
