Laser vomit is more effective than LRMs. Laser vomit also takes more skill to maximize their potential than LRMs. That's a fact, thinking otherwise is simply trying to make yourself feel better about "LRMIN LIKE A BOSS"

That video of the guy getting 700+ damage LRMing while aiming with just his foot kinda ends up owning every "LRMs are high skill" comment.

Honestly though, its trivial to go out and put up some nice scores in an LRM boat, but finding high skill LRM boats is just so rare. If I'm out LRMing I wait for lights to come up to me so I can chew them up with my arm mounted lasers. The sudden realization that I can actually hit them and keep the beam on their side torso scares off like 90% of them, leading to them just eating a 40 LRM volley to the back trying to get away. Its great.

Novakaine always shares his armor.
But this drivel on armor sharing normally come from the very people who never even bother.
Snipers and those KDR protectors.
Like I said "Laser Blind."
Gimme a break.

It's a valid complaint. I'd rather have a sniper in the back delivering pin point damage, by the nature of his play preserve his armor, than a LRM boat in the back, incapable of getting or maintaining his own locks, delivering RNGeesus determined damage.

Sniping is almost ALWAYS more effective for team play than LRM'ing.

A skilled and knowledgable LRM'er (and oh gosh how so few of them there really are) can provide good support through enemy movement suppression, but LRM'ers playing that are actually getting and maintaining their own locks and are keeping up with the bulk of the team so that they can determine where the team is going and can then see which enemy 'mechs are best to toss missiles at, to keep their heads down and NOT firing at the rest of your team.

The vast majority of LRM boaters don't play like that though, they're of my 6 deadly sin variety mentioned before...

wait wait wait, I am late to the show due to other "issues".

Did I read that right, 4 AMS slots????

I might just have to bring LRMs to hope to cause players to Overheat and die when they bring 4x LAMS.

That would be so funny. Would I get credit for the kill on that?

I don't necessarily see this as a 'real' issue though. As I recall the tonnage limitations on that build would mean that if Piranah pilot really decided to load up 4 AMS, he'd pretty much be dedicated to really only doing AMS duty.

I haven't bothered looking up the stats, so this 'assumption' is from memory, so maybe I'm wrong...

That's not a no, so your saying is I have a chance. Now do I get the kill?

LOL! I still think you're being facetious, but of course I'm sure you know the answer is "no", you don't get credit for a kill when you induce someone to self-destruction from overheating.

I can affirm you do not get the kill when you kill someone due to overheating.

I play lrm boats often enough, I wouldn't worry about the 4 AMS piranha Novakaine. As many have said it will be a troll mech used to troll us lrm players. There will be some pilots playing them after the release but in a week almost all of them will be gone. Quite simply if they choose the 4 AMS they don't have enough tonnage left for real weapons. Perhaps in some specialized team drop they will have a use but other than that just a troll build in QP.

Sounds like a personal gripe rather than a statement based in fact. In fact, your very generalization of all players who use LRMs as bad simply defeats your own arguement. 2 LRM boats working together will almost always dominate the field. 3 or more and you have a hilarious troll of a match. I dislike dudes who take out highlander LRM boats and even direwolf lrm boats, but so long as they are up front and hunting their own targets or calling targets, i really cant knock them. I call targets in every single QP match I'm in and generally, if the pugs are comunicating with me as well, we do well. Doesnt always go well, but most of the time its great.

Sharing armor is what people who don't understand good positioning say.

"STAND IN THE OPEN AND SHARE ARMOR WITH MEEEE!"

That being said, there is a time to share armor (in a push) but earlier in the battle, I am more credit to team racking up 1000 damage and multiple kills than I am dead.

"Laser blind" lol more like "Anything-but-LRMs Blind" And I'm not really "blind", its not like I have never used LRMs before.

Seriously of all the 150 or so of us we only have 4 mind you that use lrms on a regular basis.
Just four.
While I can name 2 or 3 Clan units that you can count on to have multiple lurm decks in FW.
They have nothing to be bothered with right.
But you know this.

What you describe as multiple coordinated LRM boats 'dominating' a match, does actually happen from time to time, however in my experience, more often than not, that team that brought a bunch of LRM boats gets decimated when the opposing team uses the range limitations of LRMs to their advantage, and that's including matches on 'LRM friendly' maps like Polar Highlands.

Many is the time after a match I happily type in chat: "It was your over reliance on computer guided weaponry that led to your loss."
