Hi guys,

Its me again.

Would like some recommendations on my first ever hero mech.

Prefer med or heavies since it will also be used to farm C-bills.

Some interesting choices:

YLW
Warrant
Black Widow
Bounty Hunter

Open to other suggestions too.

I'd recommend the Virago if you're looking to just farm cbills like no tomorrow. You can just swap out the hardpoints, get your ECM, max out the nodes for it, run high alpha builds, and rack up loads of damage while most of the enemies don't even notice you and none know your loadout before it hits them for 78 damage.

I also just really REALLY like my Hellbringers.

I like my HBR too. But unfortunately the Virago is not on sale.

Of those you listed, I'd say Bounty Hunter, with the Widow being a very close second.
Though I also notice that the IV-4 is on sale and it is incredibly tough and if running MRMs or even more traditional AC10 builds you can farm incredible damage with the thing.

Yeah I saw it too. I have never tried MRMs before, but it sounds great for c-bills farming.

I enjoy the Yen Lo, Black Widow, and Bounty Hunter.

Good and fun mechs in addition to extra c-bills.

I actually prefer the AC10s and 2ML or even 2LBX10s and 2 SRM4s vs the MRMs as I still have difficulty leading the MRMs, but when you get it right, damn even I can put up some numbers.

BH and BW are very good choices.
Yen Lo Wan was the first hero mech released, over 5 years ago now. It is still decent, but hard to use properly.
The Warrant, as all omnimechs, can be configured as any Mad Cat, except that it has the other arm with ballistic, so if you are comfortable with Mad Cats, go ahead.

Personally I've been struggling with my Black Widow. I really like the Tempest (Archer hero), and while I haven't dropped in it for a while I like the Bounty Hunter II (Marauder) as well.

Other heroes I like that may be of interest:
Pakhet (Huntsman)
Arrow (Blackjack)
Pirate Bane (Locust)
K9 (Urbanmech)
Legend Killer (Rifleman)

While I don't own the High Roller (Bushwacker hero) it would be another hero to look at if you don't own any of the non-missile heavy Bushwackers.

solid machine and heavily underestimated. I think he is still the fastet AC20 in the game...

Warrant.

It's basically like tibbers, but with without CT hardpoint and with CBill bonus. The tibbers itself can be decent at most builds if not excel, so the Warrant can be almost anything you want.

I've had good success with my Stormcrow running ATMs for farming. Lots and lots of damage, and the slightly indirect fire means I don't die early.
I just bought Legend Killer, and it's a lot of fun. Decent firepower, decent survivability. Not sure what kind of damage numbers I'll average.

I wish I knew what sort of 'mechs you're already running and like, OP. It would help. My advice is this: Don't invest in a hero under 55 tons unless you already run quite a few 'mechs in the 50 ton and under weight category.

I like 45-50 tonners, but they are not as easy to perform in. I don't own an IV-4, but I have seen them put up some really nice numbers, so I assume they're a really good choice.

It looks like heavies and assaults for you, then. If you like HBRs and MADs I would highly recommend getting one of those heros. For me personally, I tend to perform better in 'mechs that I like, whether they're superior or not. Since the HBR happens to be pretty good anyway, maybe that's a good suggestion for you.

Black Widow. It’s by far the best of those. 4 UAC5. 2 HPPC +4 LMG +2 MPL. All sorts of nonsense in between. I don’t know why, but my Pay2Widow treats me well, making it my best KDR mech.

The Bounty Hunter is nice for 6 ERML + Gauss, or 2 LPL + 5 ERML, but honestly I’ve had way less success with it compared to the Pay2Widow.

EDIT: I like the Pirate’s Bane too, but it’s kind of a silly mech. Dirt cheap though. :3
