Hi guys,

Its me again.

Would like some recommendations on my first ever hero mech. Posted Image

Prefer med or heavies since it will also be used to farm C-bills.

Some interesting choices:

YLW
Warrant
Black Widow
Bounty Hunter

Open to other suggestions too.

Thanks! Posted Image

Well i'll just say these are heroes i can get a lot of millage out of.

Jester, very fast moving laser boat, extremely solid and nimble. Dual AMS is nice too.

Misery, the stalker hero, it is just a fun mech. Ac20, MRM's and some lasers

Sparky, 6 MPL's and fast, a great little griffin.

TopDog, Thunderbolt's energy boat and a wonderful MPL or lpl mech.

I would say you can't go wrong with any of those, as long as you like energy builds :)

Oldie but goldie. The Stalker Misery.
One of the rare hero mechs that is worth the money and realy different to the c-bill versions.
Fast and tanky.
1 x UAC 20, 2 x LL, 3 x MPL.

since the OP has been around long enough to have cashed in on the Dec 27th free hero giveaway of the Sun Spider + Roughneck heros, I can't recommend buying a hero mech solely for farming Cbills since you're getting those soon. Both mechs are heavies and should be good at strictly farming currency.

Assuming you are getting the free Sun Spider hero, do NOT buy a Warrant. Absolutely do not buy it. If you have a nostalgia craving for the Timber Wolf then go for it because you'll be playing it for fun, and not for performance. Until it has its negative quirks removed and/or either additional mobility OR left and right torso armor quirks, it's simply too easy of a target to drill out at the moment. When I see an enemy TBR I cheerfully go after it in my huntsman because I know I can chop those torsos off given half a chance.

I believe the warhammer black widow is currently on sale half price. A lot of free birthers love that mech.

Just for farming c-bills, then I'd suggest the Hellslinger.

solid machine and heavily underestimated. I think he is still the fastet AC20 in the game...

don't know which one is the fastest but this Blood Kit goes 117kph with a C-AC20
to bad Clan AC's suck

OP the Scorch is on sale
I think the Maruder IIC's and Mad Cat IIC's are the best Mechs in the game (at this time)

I see the try hards blowing people to bits with there Mad-Cat IIc's

Pick up a Pakhet to really open up your HMN build options.

Black Widow & Bounty Hunter II are both solid choices.

Grab that Grinner you know you still want Posted Image

Haha but I doubt I can farm well with the Grinner. :P

So far I guess I am leaning towards the BH2, even though I am levelling my 3R now.

That is a shame. Listen to the guys posting here, and pick one from their suggestions that makes your blood flow. The most important thing is that you want to play whatever hero you get. Don't pick one just because it's supposed to be really good, but you don't really like it.

I'd get the BH2 over the BW any day of the week. Gauss Vomit is a great build on it, as is HGR Vomit and I've been having fun etc the LB20 + Mediums build with all the Piranhas around.

Scorch is great, but traditional brawlers can be iffy in QP, imho. If rather get a Sleipnir for HGR brawling. More flexible with UAC builds,, too. However, Scorch can run ATM48 which can farm up ******** amounts of damage.

This is very true. Currently I am struggling in the MAD-3R even though most of the people say its a great mech. I know I am the problem, I just need to get good with it, but its kinda tough for now. Still trying to find my way with that mech. Hence my hesitation with the BH2.

I am really comfortable with ATMs and Laser Vomits, but I need to start exploring other weaponry as well.

As regard to Sleipnir HGR brawling, I always see B33f using it, seems fun. :P

HGR Sleipnir is fun, though you can get most of the same performance from a C-Bill Mauler, like the MAL-2P, though the MAL-MX90 may be a better overall investment.

May as well try out the cheaper option first Posted Image

The reason why I like the Hellslinger for printing c-bills is because you can make it move at near medium speed and still have an 80 point alpha, or run 3 fire groups with 3LL for engaging as you approach and still have enough firepower with 3 ML + 3 SRM6 to push out damage while your LL group cools during closer combat.

It's a pretty consistent 800+ damage once you get it rigged and felt out which is super nice for the hero bonus.

I'd also suggest the Jester and Arrow. Both are a lot of fun, and if you like to MG troll, the Arrow can throw up some silly high damage numbers even though it will be on every part of the other mechs' armor + there's probably nothing more enjoyable in the game than mounting a mech and unloading tons of ammo from 6 MGs into its head while going for a free ride.

Sorry but Hellslinger is which hero mech again? :(

I might consider Jester too, since I am quite comfortable with laser vomit.

Battlemaster, but FupDup beat me to that for ya.

Jester is quite a lot of fun, you might not average as high of scores for the c-bills but it has a night tight grouping for all its mounts + a little JJ hop to add to the fun. Until they changed the camo pattern I would have recommended it more highly but the new one is pretty ugly compared to the one it originally had. If you get it, its totally worth trying out a 2 LPL, 4 MPL build.
