...or it needs two more ballistic hardpoints, power creep be damned.

I liked the pinwheels. Posted Image

what i didnt like wasnt the parts that you could paint but the blueish parts that you couldnt paint.

I would take more ballistic on the new FS9. Maybe remove some jj for balance sake and to not invalidate the ember completely. Or better yet, add an energy point to the Ember, in its head if you must keep it crappy.

6B + 2E, boom it's balanced against other Firestarters while still being different.

I don't get why some people complain about the XL on e.g. the Atlas. Just play until you can afford an STD engine (or LFE) and put the XL into a light/medium - looking at it that way, it's actually a (nearly) free 300XL engine, something new players would have to grind for a long time otherwise. It just requires some assembly/engine swapping.

The MDD solaris hero + Bandit torsos seems like a good idea. If only we could buy singular hero omni pods.

fantastic price on relatively lame mechs. If there was a new Highlander i might have bought in... but otherwise those mechs are really tame, the only ones which are different are the MDD CT and the higher cap urbie.

Yeah, not sure why people say because the stock loadout is junk the mech is useless. By that metric all but a handful of mechs in the game are garbage. Like, who would play a mech with single heat sinks and PPCs?

Exactly. "Oh noes the Atlas comes stock with an XL300 it's so bad". Well take out the XL and put in a STD or LFE. Upgrade single sinks to doubles. Not rocket science. Hell if you can't afford it sell the XL300 (not recommended, but an option nonetheless).

This is a good value. Great for new players if they're picking the game up with the solaris marketing push.

I remember when the La Malinche was going to have jump jets, but PGI removed them due to P2W fears.

Yeah this Siren is basically a way better La Malinche, and with jump jets. Sweet.

I'm seriously considering buying this. It happens to feature four chassis I never got into.

(As noted above, it's a damn nice starter set for a new player. Those 3-mech packs are kind of redundant with the current skill system. This gives a lot more gameplay variety for the money.)

I don't understand people who are trying to discourage us from buying mechs in the belief that it will somehow force PGI into changing the game to suit their own idea of what it should be. If PGI can't pay the bills then no more MWO.

If you dislike the direction MWO is going, maybe time to find a different game that suits you better?

Kind of a harsh thing to tell people who bought in and played, perhaps for a number of years. I mean is that how it is now? PGIs totaly lack of respect for the players starting to rub off on those who like the directing its going, everybody that doesnt like it just leave?

Not totally out of character for PGI i suppose.

Yeah, something bittervets here tend to forget. 7 heroes for $30, 4 out of 7 are actually good chassis.

I am one of those who bought in and played for a number of years. The way I look at it is that I have had hundreds of hours of play for my money, I certainly don't feel short changed. I am playing a modern mechwarrior game against people around the world that is generally fun and engaging. The game is not perfect but neither is it bad enough for people to actively discourage others from spending a relatively small amount of money to keep it going.

What?? Why did they remove em??

PGI, please make the Malinche get its JJ back! No reason not to.

You realize you're saying that to a guy that's displaying a Founders tag, right? He's one of those very people that bought in and played for years.

Look, Burke, you don't like the game. We know. And by obsessing about this game you don't like you are making yourself, and everyone that has to deal with you, miserable.

Spend time on things you enjoy. And if you don't enjoy anything... Well, get help. Because if that's the case than you are seriously unhealthy. I'm not saying this to troll, I'm saying this because it's in everyone's best interests.

In the "competative" shared world you have constructed for yourselfs. The problem is that PGI seems to have come on board with this and are now twisting the game to try and make it fit. Its going wrong, see sense.

Been around for a good while, and the game is a decent bite that I take in spurts alongside other mechwarrior games. For what it does, it is rather good. I just tend not to fling money at it :P

Well i sank a little in but natural caution towards free to play made sure i didnt splurge. I used to really enjoy playing this. It was very good, even as things where going wrong it was still decent right up till skill tree. Im in the same boat as some others, this was "my" shooter. Over time the whining about LRMs it never stopped and yet i never complained. Weaker and weaker and i never moaned right up until they basicly hard capped the damage possible. It feel more like a troll than a balance choice to me.
