I have no idea about the lights.

Mediums go to IS: BSW and ASN are very good.

Heavy goes to clans: ebj and hbr.

Assault. MAD, MK2 vs ANH, Battlemaster. It seems balanced.

I wouldn't get too excited about the results, the court of public opinion rarely gets it right. IS is the complete overlord of a few of those weight classes that are getting more clan votes. This is coming from a diehard Wolf loyalist.

While I think the Mad Cat Mk. 2 is a bit better because it can take advantage of longer range weapons and more mobility, I wouldn't say it "murders" the -1X Heavy Goose vomit build.

Lots of "T1" votes.

Lights,
Clan lights are getting more votes but balanced is still close behind.
Mediums,
The gap has shrunk but IS meds still have more
Heavy & Assault are basically the same with Clans getting the most votes.

You need to be more objective and think outside whatever your skill level is. Before we even discuss load outs, quirks, weapon location ect a lot of IS mechs have a clear advantage because they can conceivably loose both side torsos and keep ticking. The better player you are the better you are at maintaining this, which is why you probably don't realize it. I can barely scratch the surface and it's clear to me this is a monster advantage. This is why madcat is so powerful, you can drop in a std engine and get that sexy clan tech. This advantage doesn't always hold true (assasin in an xl is pretty damn strong) of course but in a lot of mechs the ability to loose 80% of your effectiveness and still keep firing something even if a couple medium lasers will help you win much more than being a little faster and more manueverable onbsttle field. Why do you think that guy b33f always blows his load for side torso shots on clan mechs? Loose 1 and you're done son, he knows this and is taking advantage of it

Zombie mechs haven't been a thing for a long time. If you've lost both STs you're basically useless anyway. Clan XL is one of the best things the Clans have and it's a big advantage.

Absolutely clans have big advantages, but the foundation that everything is built on - speed, maneuverability, load out, geometry, weapon location ect ect - is survivability. 100% this can be overcome with speed, geometry ect ect but they have to be buffed to high levels and quirk'd out even further. That should tell you something. One and you're done in a clan mech, party just getting started in an IS mech same situation. Thank god clan superior ingenuity provides for the best weapons save the for the HGR.

I'm T2 but have like a sliver left on the bar till T1... but:

* Light: IS has some good mechs here, like the WLF and the JVN. The only clan light I feel IS doesn't have a direct competitor with is the Piranah, which just feels broken to play against in some cases.

* Medium: IS has better mechs here. I would take a BSW over any clan medium, and the ASN punches well above it's weight class. The Hunchback IIC is probably the clan's best med IMO, and while dangerous, its paper thin armor make it easy enough to punch out.

* Heavy: Clans win pretty handily. No IS 65 tonners compete with the EBJ or HBR, and the best IS Heavy, the WHM, doesn't do anything clan mechs can't do better.

* Assault: Kinda balanced? Clan mechs feel more versatile and able to do multiple things, while IS assaults seem hyper-specialized. The ANH has a very specific role, but within that role it is a god. Same with the CP and BLR. Clan mechs like the MAD IIC or the Mad Cat II are better all-around, with speed, range, some durability, and some ability to brawl. So overall assault feels balanced.
