Guys chill, if you don't try for a certain chassis all you miss out on is a million cbills and a pattern unlock for a mech you don't use.

There are no interelated or stretch goals so i don't see the reason for so much salt.

Honestly, unless you want the pattern unlock you'll make a million cbills just farming the guys desperately trying to get their kmdds

Frankly, I do not understand the salt here.

The event is literally accessible to everybody playing the game. The rewards are very minor (1m c-bills and a not-so-popular camo pattern).

People are motivated to play 'mechs which are not exactly bad per se, but there are options out there that are generally considered to be more efficient. I would definitely not say that for example Jenners or Panthers are not fun to play. A lot of people play sub par 'mechs on occasion, including me. Often it is because of nostalgia - for example Jenners used to be top meta way back when. If you don't want it, don't play or buy it. Nobody forces you to.

As for the trial 'mech builds - well some are dated, but I still believe all of them are at least somewhat serviceable. Could they be better? Sure.

Also, we get enough meta play already, don't we? There are people constantly salty about seeing only meta cookie cutters all the time. Now there is an incentive to do something else and people are salty about that too.

I guess you can never please everybody.

This urban block pattern depending on the mech has a 50/50 chance of looking futuristic Tron Awesome or looking like grandma,s checkered quilt . Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image . If you mix bright red and green , you have yourself a nice Freddy Kruegar mech for Halloween .

I bought me a shiney Dragon today and a third King Crab . A man can never have too many crabs.

Okeys... I actually managed to get a whole lot done today, so here's my opinion on the first mechs of phase two.

Panther - I just couldn't find a reliable way to farm KMDDs in this one. My Panthers have only very few skill points so far (3-4) mind you, but probably the best loadout is 2 SNPPC and focus on one target. It took me a lot of matches to get the KMDD requirement.

Arctic Cheetah - Took me 3 matches to finish it. The third to get all the assists needed. 6 MGs and 2 HML work decent.

Blackjack - Wasn't too hard to get those finished. The trial is really good for that - if you have that variant add on LFF and another JJ, really adds some mobility. Arrow works decent as well (6 LMG 2 ERML 1 LPL LFE235) or the -2 with 4 SSRM4 if you wanna hunt those pesky lights.

Stormcrow - Again a very easy challenge. If you wanna go ham, just go full on streakcrow. Should get this done in a match or two, depending on the assists. Didn't actually get to test the trial version (which is what I have on my prime). Posted Image

Dragon - Difficult as expected, but easier as the Panther. The Flame (LB-10X 4 MPL LFE300) and the -5N with triple UAC/2 work alright.

Will comment on the rest tomorrow.

If someone has other build ideas or needs some, just keep em coming.

Is someone forcing you to make them? Are they holding you against your will?
If no, then don't complain about salty negative nancys when you're acting like one yourself.

These Events do REALLY SUCK the FUN out of the game.

Frustrating to see the bad gaming.

Somebody lacks critical thinking skills. Why are you spending so much effort defending an event that many players don't like? PGI paying you off?

I think only a few whiner babies have a problem with this nice event .

I imagine Leprechaun day will be twice as enjoyable and yet I Expect you party poopers to show up and take your dump because that's what you are full of.

Gonna agree with that one, hard to see how it could be worse

Those questions were rhetorical.

Many other players (including myself) enjoy the event even if they see issues with the trial mechs that newbies - or players who don't have the chassis in question - have to use if they want to try completing the goals.

That KGC was a trial mech back when I was getting into the game in late 2015 / early 2016.

Nope. I simply don't agree with the narrative you've been trying to construct and consider your complaints hypocritical at best when you complained about your own exact attitude just a few posts earlier.
Have you completed the event, or was your attitude as sign of frustration caused by difficulty with doing so?

Agree, can't play a normal game like usual. I'm trying to play some Trials but they are not optimized and it hurts badly. Tried playing the HGN and most of the time I find myself the last to reach the group and too often a light finds me and destroy me before I can do enough damage on him in hope to get at least a KMDD when match is over. Only option with those Trials is often to press O as soon as you drop because Trials runs hot, and when you cross a target you focus fire on it and unload all what you have until he dies because you will also die soon, Trials have no armor and structure.

If I use my own optimized Mechs then it's a bit better you can't QP a normal game with a variety of Mechs like usual, 90% of Mechs you see now are those from the event, proof is have you seen a Catapult since Phase 2 started?

So yes it's frustrating because my options are skip playing but if I want to QP like usual, accept the fact that it sucks.

I did in fact complete the first event and expect to complete the second. I don't want to beat a dead horse any more than we already have here but, in a nutshell, I found the average QP game a lot more fun before the event which has not been my experience with most events. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Dragon 5N with 3xUAC2 should be able to get KMDDs pretty easy, good range and DPS

1 UAC/5, RL10, 2 MPL and 2 MGs... did it in 4 matches.

Ick, I still can't make my Timber Wolf work. I would like to avoid boring laser vomit. I have plenty of mechs for that. It feels like a sluggish assault mech, so it doesn't do well with ATMs or SRMs.

Done 4 challenges . I don't feel the trial dragon is better or worse than the 3 UAC build which I must say that's a very dirty but effective build .

Going to try only trial mechs tomorrow see how far that gets me for the heck of it.
