Not all mechs are the same, its a mech by mech basis based on "lore" of the mech. And smaller mechs being more mobile was always what was supposed to happen.

... wut? They literally dedicate almost the entirety of their mech weight in engine. If you did the same in an assault or heavy you'd see similar speeds (like the Linebacker, Spirit Bear, Executioner, Banshee, etc.
