The problem is that your assertion - "Solaris is a true measure of somebody's skill" - is simply incorrect. It is a measure of their skill in 1 vs. 1 play within the current tiers and parameters defined by PGI, which is NOT the same as a measure of their skill in QP, FP, etc. Oh, sure - there's correlation, obviously, but consider what Solaris does NOT reward:
- Proper scouting
- Capping
- Teamwork
- Communication in general
- Usage of almost any terrain feature
- Skirmishing (a variant of using terrain features, distance, etc.)
Long story short: just because somebody is poor in Solaris doesn't mean they are a "horrible player who hides behind their team." Again, there is correlation, but claiming anyone who's not interested in being rolled in Solaris over and over is "a bad" is exactly the type of epeen-waving that killed Faction Play with the absurd demand to keep pairing casuals and tiny groups against pros.
The Stomps will continue until you "git gud," because we're apparently to believe that simply not playing idiotic game modes isn't an option, lol. Obviously, neither PGI nor the tryhards learned anything from FP.
