I was so gone from this game, even the new loading screen, with the stupid airship, makes me want to puke, then they go and test my resolve with a 3025 mech..

This is getting personal P.G.I

Assassin was pretty decent IMO, so if the mechs themselves are solid, why not? Also MW5 comes out this year, so it is safe to assume we will be seeing more modern IS mechs after that.

You...know I was talking about the Vulcan right? If you do, then the fact that you have to use ANOTHER mech to defend this one only further proves my point. Nobody wants obscure obsolete crap unless for nostalgia reasons.

PGI... I don't even know what to say to you with this. I've seen LOTs of different 'mech requests running the gambit of IS, Clan, MW2, 3, & 4 nostalgia, etc. But I don't think that I have once seen a massive call from the community for this 'Mech.

Why, why would you waste time and man hours on this thing when no one has asked for it? I don't think you're going to see a lot of sales for it, so why? Why not focus on 'mechs that people have actually asked for?

Am I missing something, was there a massive call for this 'mech?

And the Argus, and the Chimera, and Rifleman IIC, and Urbie IIC, and Stone Rhino. But none of those fit into MW5 so the 3D design team is busy on 3025 mechs. You know, they have to divert manpower from MWO to MW5, something they assured us would absolutely never ever happen. Except they found the perfect loophole. Now all we can do is vote with our wallets.

As I said a lot of times already, MW5. This is their way of diverting resources from MWO without breaking their promise that they wouldn't slow development of MWO.

Are the only reasons why most of the MWO player base plays it instead of Quake Champions/Starcraft 2/Sims/whatever. Also the only reason why the current mechpack pricing still exists.

Ah, okay, now it makes sense. It will be a massive flop in MWO, but I guess we can look forward to seeing it in MW5. Although, I'm not sure how well it's going to translate between the two game engines?

I'm still wanting that Rifleman IIC, the more than useless Rakshasa MDG-1A ( http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Rakshasa ) Thing is, that if I like it, I play it. Meta players are still busy with Solaris7, so it is the best time to get out those none meta Mechs.

Heck, I still run a Locust with a STD fusion reactor, its not optimal but I like it. I think that the Vulcan is among the same line of thought.

Mwo is cryengine. Mw5 is unrel engine. And the cry engine for mwo is almost completly rewriten to fit the game. Yoj cant just copy pastd a mech from ond to the other.
As for the mechs. All of us have our favorites the BT lore is so vast they cant just make all of them in lets say a year and have them working and balanced. Seeing the number on sarna it would take them anothet 5 years at least and then i am still excluding the quad and vtol things.
Quad mechs would present different challenges gameplay wise. They can sidestrafe something the standard mechs cant.
Fun yes but balanced?
I am more worried about the higher weights. I mean 4 100t is mechs vs 2 100t clan? No omnis on the is side?
Maybe that can be adressed in the future but still.
Fact is i read a lot of bs about the fafnir and that ecm isnt worth and the st are huge......
Gues what. The ecm makes a huge difference and the st dont pop nearly as much as the ct.
They only way to know is to actualy play the mechs and see how they work. Often it is still the guy playing that has the greatest influence on how any mech preforms.
And no. I am not claming to be a excelent pilot, because i am not. Just realistic.

The community literally has it's own popularity poll, which PGI has said they monitor, and the Vulcan isn't even in the IS Medium section. I've never seen anyone complain about the omission either.

This choice is truly out of left field and baffling.

I mean I know they did it to feed on 3025 nerds for a month, but there were better choices even for that.

You know they are not going to give the IS their Omni Mechs.

If they give us the Templar it better be the nice looking one from the table top game and not another MW4 abomination. It looks nicer with it's side shields not that abomiatin you are showing us.

I'm actually okay with this. I like that it's an old chassis that I recognize, even if it's intended role cannot be fulfilled in this game. Firestarters were the same. I have a soft spot for odd (looking) mechs

The mech looks nice with it's thin profile. I am however bad at playing lighter mechs and will wait to buy the hero mech when it is available for MC.

Side bar, I miss the earlier mech packs when it was four chassis with all the variants or chassis a la carte. I think PGI nailed the Solaris Pack and the recent MC flash sale. PGI, maybe also a la carte these individual mech packs rather than buy one pack to unlock the rest?

So wait... you mean to tell me... that the poll which we can vote on for Mechs that are not currently announced for the game... has a Mech missing... that happens to be the one that's recently announced?
