Does anyone else find it absurd that they actually did "downward triangle" for the shoulder cannons if you have lasers installed, but the Gauss barrels are not "flipped"?

I Tweeted Russ about it, hopefully it does not make it into the final version..

This mech is my favorite in the whole of battletech and I had high hope for it obviously but it looks terrible compared to the concept art! The gauss riffles should be longer in length and shorter in height and why the arms needed to be as huge as kegs fit for an atlas is beyond me other than those gripes it looks decent but the weapon hardpoint designs are terrible compared to the concept. I’m also curious to see its animations if they will stay true to past games or if they will give it the PGI treatment where it hobbles.

Yeah... if there isn't shoulder quirks that is going to be a killer since you can't twist that.
yep just aim for the gun and hold target. No matter how you twist it's all going to that ST.

But the direwolf has a similar problem with its shoulders, so if you're good at mitigating damage with the DW you might be ok in the BA.

For whatever reason this looks like an entirely different mech than the picture the OP posted. It is much thicker and meaner looking. It has gotten me wondering if it is just based on the angle the mech is being viewed at or if these are two different models. If it is two different models, I think I vote for this one.

Man, i can't wait to shoot those gauss rifles!

I mean, like, shoot them until they explode and cut the mech in two!

That's the Rancor.

The Gauss Rifles need a 180 degree flip as others have mentioned, but look closely at the size of the shoulder gun pods and the concept art. Because the rifles are aligned perfectly in the art to snugly fit into the lower corner of the pod, the overall size is about 10% smaller in comparison to the rest of the mech.

Meanwhile, the finished model has larger gun pods to fit the flat triangle base which doesn't match. Normally I refrain from saying mean things about the art team, but mechs just haven't been the same ever since the Huntsman & Mad IIC launch days which concluded with the team being moved on to MW 5.

God, look at how you can follow the texture on the ST mounts right behind the Gauss Rifles. So blatantly too... Man, I really hope they make some improvements before releasing this thing. People only spent a sh*t ton of money on something that ranged from the cost of an indie game to a Triple A title.

Seriously PGI, if you don't spend the time to make these models look amazing then maybe you should consider drastically reducing your price? Otherwise, why should we purchase these 'Mechs? Please take some time to listen to the feedback and make some adjustments, it would go a long way with your community/customers.

Not impressed at all. Also, I am still disappointed about PGI not choosing to retain Blasp's signature beak. Would have given it more personality.

Might be added as bolt on.

+1 that the gauss rifles need to be flipped, they look ridiculous right now. I'm a bit disappointed by how much shorter they appear to be compared to the concept art. (especially on the picture of the Rancor, though I'm hoping maybe thats just because it has lasers installed and can't mount ballistics in the shoulders.) It would be awesome to be able to see the tips of the gauss rifles from inside the cockpit, or atleast the muzzle flash from firing.

Also a bummer the missile slots for Rancor are inbetween the gauss rifles, I was expecting them to stick out of the side torso's like how they were in the Mech Assault II model (which MW:Os version seems to be more based on).

Oh well :/

They more inside the shoulders than shooting out.

While the Rancor's missile shoulders is not the best, it not a big deal. Gauss not being upside they can fix with easy.

Also they need to use more space in the Missle CT their just to much and the missiles are all clump together.

Yeah that has been one of my concerns since I saw the concept art. It is kind of like the boxes on a Timberwolf. Mount Missiles and the TW kind of sucks. Leave them off and its a very strong mech. Problem with the Blood Asp is they don't come off and even if they did, the mech would be total crap without being able to use those hard points.

I am also concerned a bit with the overall width of the mech. The screen shot the OP posted looks Nova Cat wide through the shoulders. Combine that with those shoulder cannons just begging to be shot at, I have a bad feeling us of us crazy people who purchased the Blood Asp are going to be in for some bad days ahead.

I try not to do it too much, but it's the damn Blood Asp! I've thrown some money their way after the MW5 videos and the way they helped with BT... but I have a bad feeling too. I'm hoping I don't start regretting my support for them. We will have to wait and see.

Well if im correct those pods will be front ST only. The bad news is they can be hit from any angle... even if they make part of it register as back st that won't be much of an improvement now would it :( now st perks would "help" bit not solve the problems at all imo.

But then again, you get the same issue on any mech with high mounts like MadCat, Timberwolf and such.. you take it into account and work around it..

Per cannon the BA has 1.5 tonne more armor than the supernova and 2 tonne more than the mcmk2. So that could help a little.

Good point. Those metal bawxes for launchers look way out of place.
