Releasing a new map, openly admitting it is not optimised and then basically saying "screw you" to anyone not having a brand spanking new PC because "we know it'll be lag crippling because our coding is again not up to scratch and we don't care that you can't play this map although we might sort it out until our PGI office machine s can't see any difference . . . . err, looks perfect to us already . . . buy more mech maps"
Seriously, releasing a map guaranteed to kill off the old PC owners on a ftp game . . bye bye population

Yeah, cause that would help when you have 6E hardpoints reserved for medium lasers, either because 2-3 are already taken by the large lasers or just because 6E hardpoints is all you have. /s

Clan lasers did not need nerfs. Stop trying to appease to idiots who will only move on to complain about whatever happens to kill them next. Stop staring at your spreadsheets like they contain any real answers, when all they end up doing is showing how flawed your decision making process is.

We at -LAS play clan so we dont have wait times, we take the underdog role so we can make matches, we are working ppl we dont have 20min to wait for a drop. Sometimes it feels we are the only ones who play clan anymore...
this nerf is probably the best proof you have not a slight single clue what to do, but yeah, alienate clan side once more, sure, get it done... balancing my ***... IS mode is the easy mode even more after this patch...
have fun with your next mech packs, i dont buy anymore...

Usually i am not into these kind of discussions but this is just plain bad.
IS is dominating the Laserboating for long now with their low heat low duration armor quirked Mechs.
Atleast go for the Treshold of 5 ER-Med Lasers. 2 Heavy large lasers generate ghost heat? Noone is using those anyways.
I welcome the approach that you realised this is a 3D shooter and you have to change some tryhard battletech lore for that, but THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS.
Madcat and Annihilator OK, we know it they were too strong, but where is the Assassin hitbox hotfix?
The whole ghost heat approach is a failure from the start, you should go for another idea (more alpha weapons more accuracy loss for example? )
PS they totally forgot in their spreadsheet equasions that they should take "Time to burn on target" into account too.
30 dmg in 1 second = 40 in 1,33 seconds?

Using google chrome on my mobile device it works fine.
IE and the default android browser, not so much.

And due to the fact they are doing it slow, we still think it is somehow OK.
But than you have this days when you run in lurming group's over and over again. That are the points when I realize that PGI is only happy when all of us are running lurming boats. Can't wait for mwowc 2019 when Lurmgod Inc. Vs LRM OVERLORD MC fight for the championship.

Far as durations...
Clan heavy mech with 4 laser duration nodes at 2.5% each: 1So 10% reduction from (we'll use a Clan LPL) 1.09 is now 0.981 seconds. 12 damage at 0.981 seconds is equal to 1.2232415902141 damage per 0.1 seconds.
Meanwhile: IS Heavy Mech without quirks and IS LPL with 4 laser duration nodes at 3.7% each and 0.67 is now 0.57084 (pulse lasers are the only place where IS gains are superior without relying on individual mech quirks) and 9 damage in 0.57084 is 1.5789473684211 per second.
So there, yes they have an edge.
But compare a 4 ton HML. After laser nodes: 1.395 duration. 1.2903225806452 in 0.1 seconds.
...Okay, IS gets the up front damage advantage. As they should when considering 7 versus 6 or 4 tons. Worse when considering that to have the same survivability we only get 25% weight savings with our engines versus Clan 50% weight savings.
In other words there's a lot of stuff to consider. And IS still gets less alpha damage.
3 LPL (30) + 6 ER ML (30) against 1 HL (18) 2 LPL (24) 4 ER ML (28) = IS: 60 alpha at 48.75 heat versus Clan: 70 alpha damage at 61.2 heat. (Note that Clans typically have higher heat caps provided they use that left overweight to boat heatsinks).
If they keep HL and LL/LPL tied, then...
3 LPL (30) + 6 ER ML (30) against 2 HL (36) + 5 ER ML (35) = IS: 60 alpha damage at 48.75 heat versus Clan: 71 alpha damage at meh.... most mech builds might be at 90% heat on a cold map but on a neutral map that's not viable.
Could could just go the extra 4 tons.
2 LPL (24) + 5 ER ML (35) = 59 damage at 49.56 heat including ghost heat for the extra ER ML...
There we go. At 1 extra LPL = 71 damage at 66.76 heat.
OR 1 extra ER ML = 66 damage at 61.12 heat.
Basically, its an "Eff ya" for doing 60+ insta-kill damage, come back to playing fair with the IS sort of deal... (Besides with Clan laser range, these Klingon honorable warriors spend too much time hiding far left field taking pot shots with the laser vomit equivalent to "noob tubes."
In other words, Clans are spending too much time wearing this...
Camp + laser vomit noob-tube sniper rifle + chicken hat easy mode.)
Sry but you are still wrong because nobody will fire one HLL two LPL and 4 ERML at the same Time. No one will do so!

Well, they are sticked with obsessive idea of increasing time-to-kill. More crit protection, less alpha-builds, moving 3 armour points for some mech, to make it look like they care. I know that MWO is hard to play and learn for newbies, but I think that losing their old, "true" BT audience is less profitable, than trying to prolong lifetime of a new player for another 15 seconds, ?sincerely hoping that he will love their game. So yeah, soon smth like LRMs or SLs will be the best weapon in game, we already see 4-7 LRM boats in QP. I guess ATMs will be next to nerf, after that we can cut out the clans. Like Dane said: we want PGI to succeed, we don't want to wait another 10 years to play a new BT game. To me, this patch shows they are not listening. Nothing to add, I hope for the best.
