What pisses me off about this is that the artworks come with a full disclaimer that it's not final, the preorder can be easily cancelled after seeing the in-game model during the count down but nobody ever gave me a headsup like "Hey Luminis, the stuff you see in-game, can buy for cash right now and play immediately after isn't final". Call me irrational because that is pissing me off more than it should - probably more so than any performance hit the Mech is gonna take.

I don't know, but with all the accusations that PGI doesn't play their own game, it seems absolutely mindboggling that people are reprimanding them for adjusting a model to play better.

Most Mechs look way better in MWO than their canon representation does, in my opinion. The short-barrelled BAS included. Plus, I dunno about anyone else, but I wouldn't need to be told it's a BAS - it's easily recognisable as such even with the shortened barrels.

Except the art and the 1st pictures we saw all had the long canons...imagine if the Timberwolf was shown to have it's missile pod "ears" and would have come in game with no ears but on the "on torso" missiles the S variant has instead. Would it fly so well with people then ?

And it all came with the "not final" disclaimer with plenty of time to refund it if one so chose.

Regardless, my point is, people who are like "you knew what you were getting" are talking BS because getting the model altered a couple weeks after release isn't quite as common as deviating from the concept art, is it?

As I said, I'd at least appreciate some notification before purchasing the damn thing that the model is subject to change.

You might want to take another look at the picture in the OP.

I still maintain the opinion that the mech's hitboxes are pretty easy to isolate regardless of shoulder cannon length. The entire CT area is sectioned off in a way that is pretty hard to miss (look for the boxy borders around the nose and missile pod belly). Anything to the left or right of that area is a side torso.
