With time, I can rebuild ideas for how Lasers could have worked, just that I began reintroducing myself with dakka instead, and considered how a doubled DPS from original values could have worked with Cryengine limits.
I came up with this:
using actual data of real-life main-battle tanks to determine the rate of reload and ammo per ton on actual vehicles. So the 105mm and 120mm cannons are there are the Light and Medium Rifles, along with a guess for the 130mm that is actually being developed compared to what very likely would be the variables for Auto Cannons found withing the BattleTech Classes.
I hope that this table can illustrate how Lasers can then be established, and I took care to to double DPS from the original material in the shared table, essentially being their table top value divided by the length of a turn in realtime, so that to approach MWO values, the DPS is often well above what might be expected, and is currently designed for a particular style of play over what might be plausible from a different perspective of adjusting how weapons work in real-time against the boosted Armor and Structure values we have available.
Next table for me is getting Lasers detailed, just need time to get the formulas accurate again!
