Wow.

The LRM spam is just stupid.

Last LRM (only) boat standing fights, desperately launching their last missiles from their corner-of-the-map hiding spots.

There is no skill involved, and it is not fun.

Lights should be banned from Solaris. Kiting BS. Nerfing clan lasers is unnecessary

LRMs should be nerfd. Either make them direct fire or punish the cowards that take them

Yeah, I understand what you are saying. I have the Stalker 3F, which is extremely LRM friendly.

But it is SO boring to play. Lumber in, get in range, do some spread damage, sometimes kill the indistinct black spot on your screen. Repeat. Oh yeah, "please hold locks"....

One game out of how many? Is that 700-900 damage a regular occurrence that can be attributed specifically to the weapon system and not related to player skill, yours(being good) or the OpFor(being bad)?

Not solaris, Also why censor the mech? I can pull out a screencap that show 1000+ dam with lrms pre-velocity buff. Does that mean they were broken before?

Do you see the issue with using one cherry-picked screencap to support your point?

Also is that damage specifically attributed to the weapon system or could it have been more attributed to player skill?

I didn't bother because I already gave up seeing as my team was getting destroyed ._.

There was plenty of cover if you had walked forwards instead of backwards. Also to your left and after you had backed up; there was a boulder that was easy cover to your right.

But sure there was no cover.

Good morning,
after updating MWO by last patch, I discovered an issue about EBON family mechs; it seems that when your mech is moving the nose went up to cover lower visual area, and when you stop moving you are able to see full visual again.

According to me it's hard to fight in this way.

PGI, may you check if this issue could be solved, please?

It's out of topic for LRM discussions, but -

It's worth to highlight - the new feature that allow us to go to Testing Grounds with any builds and skill tree config WITHOUT the need to SAVE and subsequently spend C-BILLs AND skill points is EXCELLENT!

We can even test Mechs that we do not own yet - accessible from store.

I've heard people talking about this patch for days now as some huge lrm buff. The only people this crap is going to benefit are mixed lrm ERLL/ER PPC builds, which is like 1 in 100 mechs, and the ones who sit back with with 80+ tubes relying on other people's locks. Reasonable mixed lrm builds alternate between lrm for range and backups for close, heat is rarely an issue. What I really don't get is they understand the annoyance and issue people have with huge lrm boat's skilless spamming, acknowledge that, and then make a change that really only benefits those mechs.

Don't get me wrong lrms are still crap, 50% of the maps make them 80% useless, crimson or river you might as well leave. Ecm counters locks hard. Ams is overpowered, I've seen 100 tubes+ narc shut down by 4 ams, roughly 45 tons of wep and ammo countered by 6 tons. That is stupid. Oh and escort mode? Again you might as well leave, enemy will sit under ecm flags and half+ your tonnage might as well be, well, lrms.

So yeah lrms are still meh and this is a nerf for responsible lrmers due to clan lrm spread increase which was already atrocious and ams buffs. The ATM3 change? ATMS have been out over a year, how hard ams shuts them down well know, I have atm 15 shadow puss and don't even fire if there's an ams around, this dinky change will make no difference. The one positive thing is the srm heat reduction, it's been too high for too long given you need to deal with ammo and bad weapon spread.

As PGI said "The core role of the LRM in the greater weapon lineup is to have a ranged DPS weapon option at an economic tonnage investment point". Thus you get high DPS weapon without need to facestare enemy.

Nope, the King Crab 0000, 000B, and the Kaiju are all still definitely in division 3. Meanwhile I spent the cbills from the new season 2 event and the GXP from the season 1 rewards to clone my division 1 Annihilator into division 2 on the KGC-000. It's nonsensical.

Have´nt tried myself (nothing against warhorns here) but i have a hunch it should work swell. Navigate to your MWO installation directory, go to game folder, open sounds.pak with 7z and either delete the whole warhorn folder, or which would be the cleaner approach imo, only delete all of the .fsb files, according to google those are the ones the sounds are stored in.


Bear in mind though that this could give reason for banhammering in equal amounts as using soundmods does!

I haven't seen anything mentioned about it in the patch notes but now that the game got patched I see my fav Shadow Hawk, its camo and srm launchers are all nicely fixed, thank you PGI.

Altho i must say, I'm not a big fan of those new srm4 models here, those things look like some srm5's with 1 "hole" covered, rather weird looking.

Anytime they even give LRMs the slightest bump, the boaters come out of the woodwork... That's why many of us that don't even like lrms are flooding the game with them to prove the point that they are abused and to get people to cry about them as much as possible.

If you want them as a deterrent, fine, but LRM90 NovaCats with no backup weapons? Get out of here in QP...

Maybe what they should do is make rewards in QP be well rounded so you can't really get 100% of your cbills/XP w/o performing X out of Y things in a game... It has to be easy enough to accomplish that you can qualify with any mech, but specific enough that "sit in the back and do nothing but fire missiles" won't cut it.

All the LRM boats prove exactly nothing. If people would have done that before the patch it would have looked exactly as it does now.  If you try to play against it like people usually do, taking cover, peeking and slowly pushing you're in for a bad round. The buff, if any, wasn't even that big. Why have LRM's never been picked up in comp play? Because a coordinated team can easily counter boated LRM's and small numbers of LRM mechs aren't that effective and usually lost tonnage.

As it is now, the team with the heaviest boats wins, as all teams are probably littered with LRM boats.

The only thing you do is chasing away players which either a) don't want to take part in your ridiculous strike b ) don't know about it anyway. If you want to ruin the fun for everybody and bring this game closer to the brink, have fun, you're on a good way.

There's no such thing than talking about it like mature people? Numbers, data, analytical proof? I'll sit this out and won't play for a week or something. Cya.
