I didn't bother, knowing there was a FP Event, had an idea not many would be in PTS.

I only had a brief window, and reading here, I get the impression, it would had just been in search.
I should had came and look via Training grounds with the changes, seems I could had seen what was changed just going in there

I think the introduction of such equipment could render the heat management changes obsolete, as one could:

alpha, alpha, coolshot, alpha, alpha, coolant pod, alpha, hide to cool off

Unless the cool shot was replaced entirely with a coolant pod type equipment, or be forced to choose one or the other. That all being said, I believe that forcing us to decide where to drop weight to include the extra cooling it a great idea. Each coolant pod could have one or even two "coolant flushes" to allow for aggressive play. Perhaps limit the number of pods to one to prevent overpowered laserboat builds. It would also force players to choose their shots wisely and increase their skill rather than rely on point and alpha in the hopes of causing tremendous damage.

One thing I would like to see is Modular Armor. It would be a great way to may tanky mechs even tankier or provide that extra protection. It could be something like 1 ton, 1 crit for 10 points of extra armor with there being a speed penalty for each piece of modular armor or overall for using it. There could also be a limit to one Modular Armor per section so as to prevent any mech from equipping an insane amount of them. also making it incompatible with stealth armor would be good too. I know this is 3070ish tech, but its only 3057 and the fafnir wasn't actually in production until 3064...

Other great things to see would be:

(a) X-Pulse Lasers
(b)Sniper/Longtom/Arrow IV launchers
----The sniper and longtom could be cannon type weapons where as the Arrow IV could be a larger missile launcher (perhaps these could all require the use of TAG?)
(c) Thunderbolt missiles
