I am one who is in until the end but I do not look at it as a sunk cost. I have more mechs than I will ever need or play. I never dropped the $$$ for a solid gold mech but I have bought plenty of packages with real cash. If over a year I drop $40 - $100 on a game I have played more than anything else I have ever played, and I started PC gaming with Zork on a PCJr., I consider it a win. If MWO shut down today I would be very unhappy but I would not feel like I wasted the money I spent given the hours of enjoyement it gave me. With over 16,000 matches and assuming an average of 8 minutes each I have 88.9 DAYS in MWO over the last 9 years, I think I have gotten my money's worth.

That should be enough to run a dedicated server or 3, as long as nobody gets greedy.

that is on the assumption the decline stops at 10k, i think it will continue. there is nothing magical about <10k, other than here be dragons. we have never been that low before. we dont know what 8k looks like, or 5k, or 1k, or at which k are the most stubborn of players.

speaking of dragons, i still need a fang. hero sale pgi?
