I'd agree with you if they had given us prior warning before the event started. Not everyone logs in every day to check for events, and if you didn't check before having a busy weekend, you lost on time Friday, Saturday, Sunday and most of Monday before you even realized an event was on in the first place. If I had known from day one and failed, that's on me. If you sneaky beeky like start an event that was not even announced properly one or two days before, that's a different ballpark.
It made me give up on the quick play portion altogether to be honest, which in this case turned out to be a double mistake. But that one's on me.

Uhm... PGI actually DID give Advance Notice, unlike what you thought. It may have only been 25 Hours (barely over a single day) before the Event started, but they did. That notice was even given on the Wednesday UTC Evening of 2018-August-29, giving until the end of Thursday UTC before the Event began. While we disagree on the part of not having Prior Warning, I do think we can agree that they should have given Advance Notice at least 96 Hours before the Event Launch happened.

I finished the FW (mostly 12 man not scout so took forever) and then got the QP bags in the one day. The QP bit was blissfully quick comparatively. Then got 38 bonus bags for my matches on the day the event ended early so thanks PGI.

All told 313 bags.....

I come home at six, start playing at seven, end playing at 11 and go to bed. There is no notification in the game that an event was announced, and when/if I check when I come home, there will be nothing posted. I guess that is a personal thing, but I'm willing to bet it's not uncommon, and as far as I know there also is no event mailing list that you can subscribe to. I definitely didn't get an email saying the event was extended. I never said they didn't give any heads up whatsoever, my problem is that the amount of notice and the way it is given is lacking. That being said, the way they've handled the screw up on the countdown timer is nice.

Your idea for an additional event would be welcome too. Sounded like fun.

Do you check the in game browser link as I thought it was advertised there?

I do agree with you though. I'd like something basic - say a simple popup when you open the client saying "on x day XYZ event starts - want more info follow the link". Doesn't need to be fancy. That said currently I check the forum announcements regularly or just look at the discord link for mechspecs as they drop all of the event notifications into their announcements channel so the information is available out there.... in a round about route.

Have you checked your loot bag page? I had finished the event and I received bonus bags for games played on Sunday.

Same here. Finished early and still got extra loot. TY PGI!

I wish when we're in QP, that we could kill Clan or IS mechs and it would count towards the mech kill challenge on the website.

Basically all of the event's premium rewards were tied to the FP portion. Without bonus loot bags, you had to get all 75 in FP to have a shot at the bonus mech... AND you had to play both sides in FP enough to get the kill bonuses to unlock skins. No amount of play in QP will earn any of those rewards. :/

it still requires 75 Loot Bags from Each Section to acquire. However, some Bonus Loot Bags have been handed out to compensate those who were still putting in the effort to finish during the time where things stopped working as planned. I don't know if any of those were given to you, or if you were even on the battlefields during that period of time, but I hope they were of some help if you did get some

Only required the 75 loot bags from each mode of play if you wouldn't/couldn't/don't spend money to support the game. Which is fine imo. Still get the opportunity for the end prize, just harder to do. A little extra bonus for those that did/do.

Actually 125 loot bags was possible from supporting the game, loot them from FP tab.
Did 25 qp matches and was able to pick a mech, no fp for me. :)
PS. Be sure to double check lootbags under your faction tab (I got 144 and never played FP)

Info is just underneath the faction/quickplay tabs

Eh... I believe all of those MechPack-Linked and TSP Loot Bags show up down in a separate section, without regard to whether you have the Tabs for either Faction Warfare or Quick Play selected. At least, I thought PGI set the Loot Bag Redeem Page up in that manner?

Okay...
What section?
I've 144 lootbags under FP and I don't bother playing FP for over a year.
So I had 125 lootbags from purchases, then played 25 matches in QP and had to redeem those under another tab before I could get the free mech.
BTW played far more then 25 matches, but for financial supporters that don't have 27/7 to play this is exactly how it should be!

The bonus ones were definitely in a separate section at the bottom as I has 2 tabs in the middle with 75 each (FP and QP)and the underneath a list of 163. 313 total. ;)

Start doing this whenever you go on MWO.

Yup. PGI should just make it possible to get the remainder of bonus bags by playing QP until the event's over. This would also cover players who were unable to get in on the FP part of the event (or didn't complete it because they didn't know about scoutng)

agree. I grinded my @ss off on the last day not knowing that PGI had a big error and loged in today to pick up my loot bags and pick up my mech and nope just a slap in the face.

What?! Bonus baggies? Above and beyond 150?! Ohhh, only if you played many matches on Monday.

I wasn't playing matches on Monday when the error occurred. Mech pilots who completed QP matches during the error window got bonus baggies. Mech pilots who did not drop during the error window, or who were done with the event got no bonus baggies.

"Unfortunately, the event system did not record any progress that occurred between 5 PM PDT Sunday the 9th until 10:40 AM PDT Monday the 10th. As compensation, we have grabbed any match data from QP matches that occurred during that time and have granted bonus loot bags."

Thanks PGI dev's. The extra time allows any players that didn't have time to drop all 75 quick play matches make up their missing grab bags. And a special bonus bunduru for anyone who dropped during the event system error window.

I stand corrected as there is a wonderful line "No Matches recorded for Faction Play Bags"
But it was not distinguished/separated from the wall-o-details just below it.

The problem being is...er...help me out on this one! Some of us might have planned according to the presented time frame. If you got it earlier, then good for you. If not, here's your chance to complete for PGIs system failed. Good for you, too.

ceterum censeo Karthaginem esse delendam! For real, fellow self-entitled Mechwarrior, cry me a river.

Correct me if I'm mistaken. If I had done 75/75 for FP then 70/75 for QP, then kept playing near the end of the event, then the event resolution gets announced, I am now able to get a further 75 bags, for a total of 220 loot bags? If I had completed all 75/75 + 75/75 for FP & QP and called it a day, then I'd be denied the additional 75 lootbags?

Or, someone who did 70/75 for FP, then said ah screw it I won't make the 150 and give up trying for QP, and called it a day, they would have missed out on the opportunity to not only gun for the Heavy Mech redeem, but also an extra 75 for a total of 220 as well?

I'm asking genuinely cuz I don't think people on the "completed" side know what's really going on.

It feels like PGI has unintended but ultimately ended up rewarding tardiness.

Bonus baggies were only distributed to players who played and got matches in MWO during the event error window. So if you did not play matches between 5:00 PM PDT on Sunday, September 9th through 10:40 AM PDT Monday, September 10th you didn't get bonus bags.
