So the first picture of the ingame model of the Incubus is out, and I can say the model is actually close to the art this time. I'm really glad there wasn't any huge changes from I can tell.

Plus it look super sexy, just loving so far.

Also the Incubus hero gonna look be the Clan equivalent of the Vulcan Bloodlust.

Like to see you opinions or thoughts so far and I may continue posting a bit more on this mech.

And on the plus side it's the first clan 30ton battlemech so more freedom in upgrades and engines.

I am not hyped. Clan lights have no good short-burn laser options. The CMPLs are too heavy and the CSPLs just suck

Maybe if it had jumper jets but i see no big reason for it. You might as well take an arcticwolf for srm , cheetah for laser or piranha for machineguns.

Anyone who doesnt have other lights im sure it will be fine but I don't need it.

I do find it strange that none of the variants offer JJs/ECM/MASC. Poor Adder level mech... and I love the Adder.

I don't see the need for ecm or jj's personally, as all they do is take weight that can be use for extra hs or weapons while the later two just give me small benefits when I can just use cover and map awarness to avoid ne spotted, and for jj's map knowledge I cam deal with going around small ledges and stuff.

WHY is that strange ? That it doesn't have fixed jump jets like the cheetahs means there's 3 more tons to work with for weapons. The Incubus wasn't put into the game as a better cheetah... its a second line clan battlemech built originally for the 1v1 duels common to clan society.

Can you say "shoulder-mounted LB20X"? I can say "shoulder-mounted LB20X". Finally, a Clan light other than the Fury that can carry a high-mounted 20 and enough ammo to actually use it! I know I shouldn't be this excited, but... this is the dream, man! This is the dream!

Well, the Cougar tops out at 87kph after tweak, and I get decent enough results in that. The KFX tops out at 104.5kph, and can carry an arm-mounted UAC20 with 3t ammo (with the opposite arm stripped)... so, with both arms and the head stripped, the Incubus ought to be able to carry a solid 4t of ammo and still hit 100kph.

Which, considering that the ballistics are cockpit level, top-of-'Mech-high, and require almost no exposure to fire? Yeah, that's plenty workable. I got the Collector's pack, so that's 4 variants to play with- all of which have shoulder ballistics. I'm thinking one with Gauss, one with LB20X, one with UAC20, and one built "normally" just for kicks.

...and yes, this is pretty much the only reason I got the Incubus. I have ~130 'Mechs; nothing that hasn't been released yet could possibly fill any niche I don't already have a 'Mech for, with the sole exception of torso-mounted Clan light AC20 trolling. I'm not kidding when I say I'm excited for this.

Uhm, well at least it'll look really cool carrying that 20 on its shoulder.

I'm so hyped for the pseudo Clan Hollander.

Nah, the KFX-A was the "Clan Hollander." That was the 'Mech the IS Hollander was inspired by- until then, nobody outside Clan space had realized a light 'Mech could even mount a Gauss rifle. It's a damned shame we don't have that variant yet, too- it should have been in the first wave, since it had been in Clan toumans for ages before Operation Revival went down.

In order to run an LB20 on an Incubus, which is 13 tons minimum (12 for the gun, 1 for ammo), 1.5 tons for endo steel structure, that leaves you only 15.5 leftover for armor, engine, and additional ammo. Since you need 10 heatsinks, the most practical engine is a 200XL at 7.5 tons, with 2 additional external sinks for 9.5 total. This leaves you 6 tons left for armor and ammo, and the mech comes stock with 5 1/2 tons of FF armor. So now you have a more fragile and slower incubus to have a 20 damage gun.

Not sure why you don't just run the Adder-B with the LB 20-X setup. You even get -15% ballistic cooldown and up to 1 ton for backup lasers of your choice. No, the high mount of the Inky isn't all that great when your intended weapon has a very short effective range anyways.

Also you can custom build the KFX-A already.

If I was to get one, definitely an ac20 or a Gauss. Slow lights don't bother me. Big guns are fun anyways.

Why take an ACH when the Incubus doesnt have fixed equipment? It's clearly an ACH 2.0, which makes it a tryhard wet dream at the very least and a better investment in the end run.
