How will "getting a Mech" work

First of all When we start the game I was thinking are we going to be given a choice of mech's from your house if you are in a house that is or if your in a Merc company / lone wolf be given a lump of C-Bills to purchase from a list of mech's available to you?
Once your into the game and trying to further you career and your are in a house will you be limited to just the mech's they field?
I am guessing if this is the case then Merc's and lone wolves will just have to save up C-Bills to buy there next mech like you do in World of Tanks?
The next thing I was wondering is if you pick a house and you really want a mech but it is from another house do you think we are going to be able to salvage one if you have a battle with the said house and if they field the mech you want (you have to kill it first obviously) then you can get it.
Now the next question is more of an idea than a question but do you think that there is ANY possibility that when you have chosen your house and you have been battling on different planets across the Inner Sphere.
There would be a possibly that you say capture then garrison a planet and if you manage to keep hold of the planet for x amount of time you find that there is a Cache of Lost Tech on said planet!!!
This could open up a lot of interesting things that could happen!
For one the house you are in has just found out that they maybe sitting on a massive pile of mech's and weapons from the Star League Era and you have first dib's on picking one of them!
Same goes for Mercenary groups but this would be an even bigger prize because the merc group would be able to expand its self and bid for much better jobs!
As for a lone wolf if you helped find it and keep it you could have your choice of a mech
This leads me onto once you have found out you have a Lost Tech Cache on the planet you have garrisoned for a while you are going to become a MASSIVE target because everybody else will want to take it from you!
I am reading through my Novels again and have just read The Price of Glory which if you have read it you would understand why it gave me the idea of finding a treasure trove of Lost Tech!
and if somebody is struggling then this is the story -
The Gray Death Legion is employed by the Free Worlds League against the Capellan Confederation. After the completion of a campaign, they are to be awarded the planet Helm as a reward. Helm has an ancient Star League cache on it though, and ComStar, in league with radical elements of the Free Worlds League , try to frame The Gray Death Legion for a massacre so they can take possession of the treasure: a Star League Memory Core. The Gray Death Legion escapes with help from Duke Ricol.
Good idea or not???

Salvage is a hot speculation item as right now its viability is based on if there are 'respawn' battles like in MW4 online matches or if its perma mech death: IE when a mech goes down and its not fully destroyed it leaves salvage.
Other wise cool idea.

I'm at the moment playing World of Tanks and have been for a while now but to be honest it gets a bit boring after a while just saving up for the next tank all the time where as something like this might be better because it has the restriction you need but also a better way of getting the mech's you want in my opinion.
The other thing is ( I don't know if you have played WoT) but when they brought in the option to be a Wallet Warrior and you could buy the Type 59 it spoiled the game for me because a lot of people just buy the tank with REAL cash and I can't be sure but it seems like they are way over powered and armoured and in all honesty have made me not play it as much because I end up getting annoyed and can't be bothered with it any-more.
I don't want MWO to go this way but I am dreading the day when it more than likely will be announced
But if they do it in some way similar to like what I said above it would stop the Wallet Warriors from ruining the game because unless you found / Salvaged a mech you would have to choose from you House armoury which would make me happy

All the complaints about the T-59 are due to those in lower-tiered tanks who can't kill them 1 vs 1 (and rightly so). Also, T-59's tend to team up and "wolfpack," so they can easily take on solo tanks. Finally, I feel that many don't know how to aim, as the T-59's turret tends to bounce off shots. But they are very vulnerable in the sides...but still many just keep on hitting the turret.
They are not really overpowered, it's just and illusion. They can be easily killed, as long as you are at least in a same-tier tank ,aim your shots, and expect them to "wolfpack" when they come.
edit: And remember, it's the wallet warriors that lets the welfare warriors play for free.

Will it's a F2p game, that's pretty much the only way they can make their money back...

What about the money that is generated from selling the game originally?
It's "free2play" meaning it's free. They will be hoping to make money off of minor transactions for add-ons, visual items, etc.
If I understand correctly, the available mechs will be based off of your in-game rank, but you should have access to each tier of mechs to start off as they seem to be trying to build a class based style of play.

I expect that the mechs your house uses will be rather cheaper for you than those other houses use - so Kurita can expect relatively cheap Dragons, Davion can expect some other thing, and Steiner can expect the good old AS7-D "scout" mech.

Yes, it's free to play, but that doesn't guarantee that you won't buy it originally. F2P just means that you don't pay per month.

the phrase "Free To Play" says it all, no money needed. otherwise it is not "Free"

Completely free games would be freeware, not F2P. Whle yes, they have said that this game will not require an initial buy-in, I'm merely stating that F2P does not mean that there couldn't be a buy-in, at least by the definitions that I have seen in the past. Unless somewhere along the line, the definition changed.

EVERY Free to play game on the market currently, INCLUDING WoW I might add, has no charge to get the initial install, nor to play the game every month. If they charge for that initial install, it's not a Free 2 Play and can't advertise itself as such..not in the United States at any rate.

Seems like you need to read this before making statements that are incorrect or already have been answered by the Developers.
Team Fortress is a free 2 play game, and yet it is highly profitable because people buy the ingame stuff. This is the profit model MWO seems to be taking.
