Yes, one speeding up to make sure he kills himself within the first minute. One staying afk for 2 to x minutes and another one going the opposite direction of you. Much fun in qp.

Well, I finally completed all of the items. Here is where I ended up by the time I got to 100 components on the non-damage number stats. Had to break out the Anni running quad lb10x to get those components.

Victories 20 / 5
Kills & KMDD 86 / 25
Assists 213 / 50
Components 103 / 100
Lance In Form 189 / 100
Solo Kills 25 / 3

I like how the servers are down two days in a row during this event. This will prevent me from destroying the last 15 components needed to complete all the challenges. Will the event be extended to compensate for the server down time?

Weekend warrior event goes on until Thursday, still can't accomplish... so not keyboard warrior or weekend warrior, mechwarrior?

Jeez, you are a serious KSer aren't you? 25 KMDD and 25 Solo Kills, with 86 Kills? I need lessons!

EDIT: Oops my bad, my stats are very similar except the Solo Kills! Nice job!

I got all of mine in Faction Play, was probably the easiest challenge (not a challenge).
But man, 5 days to accomplish all of this stuff and they named it weekend warrior! I thought I had to get it done in 2 days and was almost worried! People complain on here they want extra days added, when the server was down for not even 20 minutes yesterday. Could make these challenges a month and people would ask for 5 weeks.

AFAIK, a solo kill awards two points of progress for the kills & KMDDs goal. So he'd have 50 from those solo kills alone.
Also, as it counts KMDDs, it doesn't necessarily imply killstealing - in fact, if your solo kill gets stolen, you still get a point for the KMDD.

Only if you're looking at UTC or East of it. Wednesday for the people West of UTC. Didn't get the Weekend due to Medical Issues with my Right Ear. Got sabotaged yesterday by PGI's Monthly Update Patch, and today by the HotFix Patch. Yeah, we need 24 Extra Hours just to give us stragglers a fighting chance. :(

Yes, the solo kills were counting as kill and a kmdd so it makes that counter go up twice.

Yes not PGI's issue. Every event you have asked for extensions. Sorry about your ear.

Well, I managed to get through the Event, but only barely. Regardless of that, I was asking for the Extension for reasons which are NOT specific to me. Reasons that affect a large number of MWO's Players, like the fact of the Event being interrupted for everyone, and other things which I have mentioned in previous posts. For example, I believe we had a lack of proper pre-announcement here? These problems of a more global nature may not have affected you, and I barely escaped them clobbering me, but we have more than ourselves to think about if we're not being cold jerks. Frankly, if PGI had gone ahead and actually given an extension of at least 24 to 48 Hours to compensate for the issues with the Event itself, I would have had no issue after that with their closing the Event. After that extension's timeout point, the fault and failure would then certainly be on anyone who didn't finish the Event, and not PGI. -_-

What issues did this event have? There were none, unlike the last event. This event had 2 patches. That isn't an issue. It's literally 30-45 minutes of downtime in 120 hours. That is less than 1% of unavailable time at most. Are you calling the event itself not being pre-announced an issue? If people don't log on, check the website, log into the game (which has a huge advertisement every time they log in) or anything else, that is their issue. Patching? That's announced and done monthly anyway. Hotfix? another 5-10 minute of downtime, not even a full match missed.

I know you like to complain on behalf of everyone else, but can't you let those affected complain? I'm not being cold, it's just ridiculous how if an event was scheduled for a month you would ask for 5 weeks regardless of what it entails. 10/10 or 12/12 again PGI! Thanks!

Well I see both sides - if you're EU TZ both patches were in prime time on work days so there are grounds for an extension. I gave up for the night and went off to do other things as it said "up to an hour". That said I also managed all the targets on day 1 of the event as it felt very casual friendly so I can also see the other side as well.

I'm curious as why people feel the need to finish every part of an event which has 8-12 (sorry not counted) small goals. I understand collecting every mech but completing every part of every event when they're fairly constant?

PS: Nothing wrong with people politely representing other peoples views imo. Its better than the constant complaining or copy paste complaining by certain groups of players which are entirely negative. ;)

To be fair, i got the challenge done on 2 accounts each with a couple of hours (maybe 2 hours each).
One mostly on faction and one mostly on quickplay.
Lance in formation was both times last to finish with a couple of games in a row of either
a. lancemate speeds off and get's killed in 1 min
or b. lancemate afk and that was subjectively super annoying.

I'd get it if lance in formation would actually offer any kind of benefit but in reality it just doesn't.
Lances are super wack currently, no light wolfpacks, no nothing.

Had a lance consist of 1 pir, 1 sin, 1 bkl and my whm.. i don't even know what my 68kph 70 ton had to do in the "light lance". Would be okay once but that pattern repeated itself a lot.
Almost as if the MM was trolling.

I just think that "lance in formation" shouldn't be used for any challenge.
There are much better options like hit and run, savior kill, etc.

And if pgi would like to improve anything, they would have had a "survive the game 0/50" challenge so people wouldn't yolo all the time and event is on.

@All: I ended up as follows:

24/5 victories
16/25 kills / KMDDs
176/50 assists
1832/500 ballistic damage
645/500 missile damage
1592/500 energy damage
26/100 components
2890/500 missiles shot down
42/100 lance in formation
5652/2500 match score
1/3 solo kills
115/50 UAV detections

I got several prizes, thanks for those, PGI! :) I still think that I should have gotten more than 26 component destructions, something to the tune of about 45 to 50, total. Other than that, I think the results were (for me) pretty much as expected.

On the topic of time... The main patch hit at 20:00 on Tuesday. It took something like 47 minutes before the portal agreed to start downloading patch data. After that there was enough number crunching that I think I got back into game around 21.40 or so. On the hot-fix, I was forced AFK by IRL matters so I am not sure when the it took the game down, but when I returned, I had been forcibly disconnected from MWO. I tried to relog, game told me I need to patch, proceeded to do so, which took a total of well over half an hour, at which point I noted it was getting too late and some sleep might be a superior option instead of match or two, which would probably not had a major impact on my results as all the challenges that I failed were than far off (solo kills are rare for me).

@PGI: Additional note, after the patch there have been multiple MWO crashes and sadly I can already confirm that the hot-fix did NOT correct that problem. :( Reports have been sent, when possible, on one occasion was not possible, because the entire computer crashed along with MWO.

Thanks to everybody, who took part, had some really nice games! :) Special extra thank you to RWTumbleweed for some really nice calls on our common matches!

Next... Hoping to have no more crashes so I can play the Incubus event. :) Good luck and fun battles for everybody!

Do you start matches on VOIP like some do with these statements 'stick together, focus fire, use your R keys etc..' like I hear a lot of players do? If everyone did this, lance in formation would be a habit, not a rarity.

I refuse to say that because my teammates should already know this stuff... I don't want to have to spoon feed my teammates every single freaking match simple, common sense instructions. When I get a truly incompetent team, I'm often tempted to purposefully play bad, just to give them another loss. I am willing to lose to ensure my moronic teammates lose, because playing as bad as they are they do not deserve to win.

.... I don't play QP much anymore. It does nothing but make me angry at the potatoes, who in all fairness probably have fairly serious mental or physical handicaps, because nothing else could possibly be the reason they play like they do. And I shouldn't be angry at them for that.

Good spirit! Not everyone is going to get every event accomplished, due to play style, accuracy, time constraints, whomever they're grouped with, drop caller or none, but hopefully there is something for everyone, especially in an event called weekend warrior. The 'tryhards' will knock it out easily, maybe on 2 accounts, but I love these events (and the loot bag one before it) had something for everyone.

That's my main issue with these complaining threads. These events are easy for some but grindy, a challenge for some but rewarding in some way, generally long enough so we can get on to the next event and good for the game population typically (although some requirements lead to kamikaze play from those who don't care for a particular play style).

If each event took forever, the average player is going to get bored waiting for the next one.

Now we have a double XP event going on, and a XP conversion event. If you literally want me to whine about that one, I can on the next thread, but who besides SUPER SUPER whales (I'm just a regular whale) converts XP? It would cost $80 USD to accomplish the 1M XP converted. I am a completionist, and I won't even transfer 1 MC, so my bar won't move a tick. I'll not be going to that event thread at all to post. It's PGI's business model that applies to some people who pay to support the game, and all of these other events are to get even Free2Play people who spend 0 money on the game to come play on the servers so those of us who spend money have someone to shoot. Keep that in mind THAT is what F2P is based around, and that is why I give all events 10/10 and accomplish them 12/12.

Thanks PGI!

You would have accomplished lance in formation in 2-3 FP games. I'm literally talking to the T5 and T1s who play with T5s or those who seem to play like them.
I'm quite sure you could have knocked this event out in a few games, and happy to have helped you with some KMDD and Solo Kills in Faction play, I'll hope to kill you back one of these months! :)

You'd think so, but when we do FP we generally spread out instead of deathballing, so I didn't actually complete this one, I only got 87 lance in formations, and I know I played a couple dozen FP games during the time. Spreading out and forming a large firing line to slowly advance on the enemy while trading from cover is my group's preferred tactic, so I don't see many of these. Not that I particularly care, it's only 25 MC.

I do thank you for your generous contribution to my FP KMDD's though Posted Image Hope we can play more games soon!

Don't you get them on the march to the firing line though? I don't know what the actual mechanic is or how often it fires, it just happens passively.
I don't particularly like huge deathballs as they obviously lead to easy arty, but when doing siege attack it's pretty easy to group up and move in (even at two gates) and advantageous even when moving into a firing line to move together rather than everyone trickling in.I'm still trying to figure out all this stuff as I've only been playing 2 months and just try to do what my drop callers tell me to (and I get more wins with a drop caller than without) and the hand holding is appreciated while I come out of my training wheels. I've seen top FP groups and played with some where I am definitely the odd man out where battle comms are only targets damaged. Something to work towards for sure!

I did not, and was curious about that. Now we have something to talk about! PGI WHERE IS MY MONEY! PGI BETTER HAVE MY MONEY!
