Sleipnir & Scorch.

Warhammer IIC is neat for nostalgia and I'm sure it will be a stellar mech. For my own tastes though, I'll stick with the Marauder IIC and pay for having 5 more tons with the tradeoff being a MUCH better frontal target profile.

I'm not sold on that PTW aspect, honestly. With only 2 ballistic Hardpoints, the only things you're going to be able to mount up effectively (For its tonnage) are going to be the ubiquitous GaussVomit, or LBX20+MPL/SRM. twin 10s, 5s, or 2s, just won't boat hard enough at 80 tons. The Gauss build is already has stiff competition in the night gyr, and MC2-1, and it will be tough to displace even those, let alone the deathstrike. Now, the LBX20 build is fairly unique. There's not a lot of clan mechs that can run with twin LB20s, and this one has potential. However, is it going to be notably better than something like the Orion, considering that unlike said Orion, it likely will NOT get IS-level quirks? Not really sold on that.

All that being said, the WHM 2s are going to be staples at 80 tons, Premium included. Solid profile +Clan equipment+battlemech makes these things very capable of a wide variety of very dirty builds. Up to this point, Clan doesn't have any good mechs at 80, so it's good that they're finally getting one. (Next up, 95, 70, or 45 ton clan battlemech, plox.) The premium won't be an exception to that.

As for the Sleip, I wouldn't get too terribly attatched. I've heard rumblings that its only major advantage over the mauler (Agility) was on the potential chopping block with the upcoming balance changes.

The only issue with the Canis is having an awful 290 engine cap...but with its hardpoints it could still probably overcome that limitation anyways (though IMO all 80-ton mechs should have an engine cap of at least 320 because they're more like big heavies than small assaults).

I believe the Vulcan sits in a similar boat, but since it's basically yet another ASN-21 with additional hardpoints but way worse hitboxes it's a non-issue.

I mean, Hgauss Victor works with 270.

For that build you don't even have the option to go bigger (unless you want to go armorless I guess), and really it's still more optimal to run that something 90+ tons.

I just wish that the Un-Awesome and those two Hatamoto variants got their caps raised to 320-325, they could actually use it.

This mech pack comes pre-nerfed...none of them have XL engines despite other IIC packs having over half of the variants equipped with XL engines...so you're getting less for your money than ever before!

Umm you could just put a xl in them it's not really a nerf tbh. That's how their stock loadout comes with.

Later variants had them, plus the Hero isn't canon that I can see and could have been given one.

More like they opened their "HG can't sue us anymore" box.

Well I for one have to congratulate PGI..

Not only does Warhammer IIC look good (at least in the art.. we'll see about the model), but they've also included a 5 missile slot version in the basic package.

That alone is quite refreshing.

Has good LRM boat potential. Especially with clan tech.

And to all the people crying over "no double gauss version other than the Hero" - now you know how Lurmers feel on most other mech releases.. Missile slots mostly only on Hero versions..

And? Unless you run stock only this shouldn't be a concern seeing the WhammyIIC is a battlemech and can freely upgrade the mech how ever you like.

And barely any heros are canon but it doesn't matter since they're there to be something different behind a paywall.
