I can’t believe I’m writing this... but I think the head hit boxes need to be a little bigger...

Either that, or I really need to work on my aim.

Or both.

Knocking out a mech in one hit no matter what weight class should not be easy.

I killed 2 madcats in a row at like 300m in solaris city with hgauss.

EZ.

Headshots being easier would see skilled players farming everyone even harder than they do already.

Just wait for a mech to shut down then headshot with dual hg or some good old laser vomit or ac20's

The issue with headshots in BT is that the health values of the head hitbox are way, way lower than any other body part unless you're a tiny light mech. As such, making heads easier to hit would make mechs drastically easier to kill.

Most other FPS games let you kill people quickly even with just body shots, so getting the kill a little bit quicker via headshots in those games isn't as big of a deal. They also usually have quick respawns too.

I can never get headshots. I already know the head hitbox for most mechs are just a little askew, which is okay.
But with all the things going on, like screen flash and shake, slower torso weapons, hell just the distance perspective can make it had to get a headshot without zoom.

It would be interesting to see how increased cockpit hitbox and doubled or tripled head HP plays out. Not with this developer though.

Once you figure out where to aim it will end up being easier to hit that tiny hitbox.

Yeah, that is one event I am not going to manage to complete. In well over 1000 matches I have done one heatshot and I have been headshot once.

I have 31 headshots with 7000 games played. So don't worry about your aim not being that good.

I got this challenge done by running a dual heavy gauss Thanatos and making a conscious effort to aim for the cockpit glass.

im not sure if atlas has any head hitbox any more iv beamed both eyes on a overheated atlas and it counted as a torse shot.

The issue is not your aim, but network latency. It is not quite so noticeable on larger limb hit boxes, but you will often find that for example, head shotting a shut down Annihilator which has an immense and obvious head hit box is very difficult, even though you are on target.

Thought it was the left eye? Well, left eye, on the right when facing you. Anyone having too much trouble with it can go the Solaris route though - it’s an option, and preferable to a bunch of people standing around trying to make one in a hundred shots, generally against people trying to farm tag damage.

Got 3 head shots yesterday, none were shut down. Once was with LRMs <3

I have gotten a couple of headshots with Lb20x... So yeah, I would prefer not increasing that potential at all.

I've also been headshot while twisting and travelling ~80kph, and at times after exposing for less than 1 second. Kind of really sucks to have 97% of your armor bypassed by a "lucky shot", as people so often call it, despite certain builds being specifically made to attempt constant headshots.

Does scoring a headshot on teammate counts towards challenge? Because who gives a ****, right?

Did anyone in MWO history ever scored headshot kill with LRM? If not, I wanna be the first.
