Damn right I did this.
It's relevant.
It was overlooked from start.
What was that top down from when this started on unity engine? Even that had the semblance of brand weapons.
WE NEED IT! and the communty would benefit from the yes you said it, fair and balanced version.
Not the basically OP version in HBS.

Mod support and a dedicated person can make some awesome mods. Like this guy who did his own robotech/battletech mods for arma 3. I tried arma3 and just didn't like it much but still it is able to do a lot of interesting things. MW5 could open up a lot of possibility if only pgi makes it so.

Also, MWO is in so garbage state, that there is no reason to play it now, not even saying about buying anything for it. "6 kills of KMDDs" event? Just several days after more or less good Christmas event? Needed 3 DAYS to complete it. 14 matches played, 2 kills, 11 deaths, K/D = 0.18, lol. And I don't think, that MW5 will be in better state. So, fix MWO first, then we'll talk about pre-order. PGI haven't earned my money yet.

Speaking of HBS I am working out minor bugs and oversights in my HBS BY (edit BT dang tablet) overhaul on weapons and equipment. My infantry and VTOL mods are never gonna see the light of day (AI cannot properly use the VTOL and the placeholder flying APC just looks silly and not in a cool or funny way. The infantry...also disappiinting. Ace pilots is coming out pretty cool but the game has an issue with handling "He's dead, Jim, please stop spawning him to say "I'm back!" ".
While it might be a month or a little less before its package-able (the update broke a few things) I need testers to help me find wonky issues and oversights. So you're welcome to help me there. It's not 100% what I'd like as there are limitations (for multi-shot effects one has to choose either multiple shots in one place or a shot in a new roll for hit location each time so sometimes I'd have to choose the best for how it works regardless of how true not is. For example Pontiac 100 ac/20. 100 different hits in different locations...bleh. wanted effect to have the 100 shots but have them cluster in 5s or 10s in 10 to 20 places at most maybe less. Between that and watching the clock in it playing out the only way to make it happen was to heavily modify a machine gun... but it worked. Just no booms with it. The original solution...it sucked.)
Anywho knowing someone's interested I might put up some info about it in the BT discussion thread this weekend. I actually need some feedback on solutions to a few issues as well as potential filler design ideas. (There's 60+ unique medium lasers in the IS and then 40+ overall variations and ripoff of those unique weapons. Trouble is only 37 are described in any real detail. Now imagine ac/s, PPCs, missiles (the variation here is actually surprising) and so on. But while some are detailed others are vague. Not every laser is a Rassal Blue Beam. As such the more help and ideas I can get the better I am sure they would be.)

-MW5 isnt out so there is absolutely no telling what kind of quality we'll get in the game
-MW5 gameplay trailers look like the game isn't especially simulator like (and that's what I want, a giant mech simulator, not a ****** version of counterstrike)
-MC is almost worthless, since it can't really buy you anything worth having (hero mechs? eh. mech bays? I guess, but I really don't think there are that many mechs worth owning. Warhorns? I guess. credit bundles to skip the grind? it's pretty telling that not playing the game is considered a reward.)
-Premium time is of dubious value; if they didn't give it away for free, I wouldn't waste any time or any other resource acquiring it
-the marauder 2 just looks like a bigger, slower marauder or marauder IIc; the ecm version is like a crappy king crab with ECM and the hero looks like a crappy king crab without ecm. maybe 3 jjs on a 100 tonner excite some people (pop-tart with the 9 missile variant?); honestly the most tempting variant looks like the 1 with 4jj slots, 2 and, 1 ballistic, and 6 energy hardpoints, and that's only because 2 of those energy hardpoints are torso mounted. otherwise, nothing special.
-the non warhorn cockpit items are crap, as are the bolt-ons; the c-bills and xp to unlock skill nodes are nothing because you'd be getting those from playing anyway
-if MW5 sucks, none of the MW5 related rewards will mean anything anyway
I won't tell anyone how to spend their money, but if you ask me there are better uses

You can just pay the $50 version and get a full game, $20 mech pack, and $50 worth of MC. I personally do not condone pre-orders, or kickstarters but without kickstarting, we wouldn't have had MWO in the first place. So there is that to think about.

I will wait until Youtube reviewers or Twitch streamers (like b33f) review the game and offer their take on it.

So, anyone want to explain the current meta to someone who hasn't logged in since shortly after the MWO beta ended? lol

The questions are:
1. Can we trust the september 10 release date?
2. How long will MWO survive to enjoy that bonus content?
3. Will MWO be a good game? (the videos so far don't look good IMO)

I can't answer 1 or 2, but MW5 demo actually played really nice, people watching the vids complained about the AI, but one of our guys died playing the demo (took a AC20 round in the back), and a couple were pretty rekted but finished the mission

This. Right there is my main concern and why I have not hit the preorder already.
I really feel like we are already flogging a dead horse here. Once MW5 is released, will the dead horse finally be dragged off to the dump? That there is so much 'bonus' content being thrown in does not instill me with confidence.
Don't get me wrong, I am buying MW5. That may be at a sale after release rather than anywhere near prerelease though. The MWO content could be essentially worthless in 12 months. Or less.
