Straight / Low trajectory LoS LRM fire is a redherring. Its encroaching on ATM and MRM territory.
LRMs whole niche is arced fire plus IDF ability.
**** with that and you might as well take another weapon.

Dunno, I think laservomit, dakka, gaussvomit, mgspam was cried spectacularly about during the run of MWO with various nerfs and buffs as a result. Ghostheat *cough*, gausscharge *cough*, PPC-Gaussthingy *cough*, mg-critnerf *cough*.
Maybe people cried not so much about that because these weapons are quite balanced for PGIstandards. Lurmageddons happened from time to time, too and were catered to. Now we are in Lurmageddon part 6+ or so.
Considering FW: before aforementioned Lurmageddon I was able to do laservomit, dakka, HG or SRM-brawl, LBX10 builds, even lurms on some maps. All viable at least for IS. There was even variety on clanside. FW saw way worse times...

Specious Hyperbole, there are maybe 1-2 LRM platforms ( tending towards 1 ) per side each match.
Lurmageddon my arse. LRM players have died off again after lockon area was reduced.

Its' funny how the FW pundits who hate lrm found a way to exploit it and abuse lower coordinated teams and then still lrm is garbage. Then I feel like they don't' want lrm around at all?

You got it backwards.. actually it's evidence that LRM's need to be nerfed (along with narc).. the weapon system is OP and exploitable in the right (experienced) hands.. but new players want their candy.. and PGI thinks it's Halloween..

Because if you ask 9 out of 10 new players, they will say lrm's need moar BUFF's..

This whole thread is about buffing lrms.. and all the new players want the change.. open your eyes. All the idf nerfs aren't enough to change the state of lrms.. they release this change and the whining will continue just for a different reason..

Speak for yourself and only yourself. Personally, I like what LRMs add to the game as is and I hardly ever use them. LRMs add additional layers to the battlefield that make things far more interesting than the simplistic point and click adventure game you seem to desire. Even when they don't hit their target forcing them to take cover as you described has impact of the battle.
That being said while the trajectory change is good the rest of it is pretty much garbage.

If you are so focused on your 1v1 trade anyone could provide an annoyance for you with any weapon in the game. While you find it annoying I would imagine your opponent is happy for the assist.
