more like an early fundraiser, ruffled a few feathers by all accounts.

On that topic if someone forked out 500 bucks you'd think they'd get a really great reward for trotting out one of those moving targets today, since everyones favourite game is "kill the gold mech"

A challenge for my Gold Mech? That's something I never thought I'd see. Hell I never thought I'd see PGI mention gold mechs ever again after they got taken down from the store.

Who cares about C-Bills or winning? I'm turning all my graphics settings to ultra and dropping into as many matches as possible, so that I can capture some footage of these rare beasts. I want to be able to prove to my grandchildren that I saw those legendary gold mechs with my own eyes.

Last time I heard about gold mechs they were used for target practice, regardless of which side they were on. That's quite expensive for a "kick me" sign.

Actually, I've never seen any hostility towards gold mechs in game. On the forums, sure. But people in game are pretty cool about it IME.

I guess we'll see during this event if that's changed.

Never quite had the disposable income to justify the gold mech cost myself however.

I always was disappointed in how the community at large treated those that purchased gold mechs.

IMO PGI you should give the Gold Mech owners 1000 MC instead of puny 100mc. For spending that money, the rewards are same as the pleb event rewards for most part..

One of the reasons I bought a gold mech is because all the people who said they'd team kill one if they saw it. I'm like "Awesome! They'll TK my mech, and in return I get to TK their accounts!" But it turns out all the people who talked **** like that were full of it. I've never been team killed.

... still worth every penny though!
