Looks capable, but uninspired.

Geometry and hardpoints look fine, if the quirks are good, it should be alright. If the mobility is good, it might be even fun.

However, there would have been much better choices. MW:5 über alles, I guess...

Mobility-based long range firesupport mech it seems. Lore sometimes calls it a poor mans archer. Very OG mech introduction date wise.

I want my Stinger.

The hero gonna be a big rival to the Phaket in 8srm nuke boat, in general the mech look like it's gonna hold it self up. Only problem it got for me not much variation between each variant. But it a missile platform and I do love missiles.

My gut says, with all the lust for the Crusader and Wasp and Stinger, that we won't be seeing those mechs in MW:5 or MWO.

Doom and gloom, I know, but when PGI needs cash (read: everyday, including today) and they could release a potential cash cow like the Crusader....

I like the Dervish, but wish it had been introduced earlier in the life cycle of MWO. On the bright side, great mech for HBS' BattleTech!

There are so many mechs at this point I think the artist is starting to have trouble making designs that look unique. It looks like a victor with archer missile doors attached

At least make one variant different from the others. They’re all the damn same it looks like. Unless super laser quirks which may not even be worth for the ammount of energy hardpoints. Mrm’s for this might be a new IV-4, hopefully good mobo and armor.
Just wish there was more variety!!!

I like it. It's design reminds me of an Enforcer and a Victor. Those missile doors in the torso are of course very Archer like.

It's like a Trebuchet, but with some style :).

As others pointed out too. I think it is to help bolster the MW5 roster as well. Also, as Marauder3D stated, it is another mech to help fill out the HBS BattleTech roster as well. I don't think it is going to line up timing wise for the Urban Warfare expansion, but maybe the following third expansion. That would be cool.

I come in five different flavors. They're all the same flavor. I can come without energy but that'll cost you.

I like the return of split fold missile bay doors. Perhaps the Centurion can be retrofitted to its former glory now.

Well, they finally released another nostalgia mech... and I hate it.

I'm not even sure why. All I know is of all the Dervish versions I've seen, I despise this one the most.

I imagine the upcoming release of MW5:M played a part in selecting this old classic for development. It's also great for HBS BT -- that's game's really missing good early-game missile boats.

(PS. My six-month-old girl likes the pink hero variant.)

I don't hate this new Dervish -- far from it in fact. But I think it has something of a Wolverine (or BattleMaster) syndrome going on: it feels generic compared to the fairly bold original design.

IMO it's a rare case where just about anything won't be an automatic improvement over the original BT design -- the Dervish to me is one of the best-looking designs in old BT that isn't taken from anime or one of the very recent Anthony Scroggins re-designs.
