No, this is just from an ancient version of the game. I'm guessing sometime shortly after one of the Clan Wave releases? Before the mechs became readily purchasable for C-bills. The more confusing thing is how one gets 7 kills, but only 1 assist. I thought you were also given an assist for every enemy you touched or locked, whether you killed them or not. Regardless, if accurate then it's a clear case of someone else stripping most of the armor and then LRMs taking the kill. That's actually THE most confusing part of it, because Novakaine should have much better screenshots than this from much more current versions of the game.

For most recent as of last patch (or two), yes. Recent as in within this year (2019), most likely. Recent as in within a year... not necessarily.
Depends upon how "recent" you reference to. I suspect this screen shot was back in the Elo days? Hard to tell. All I can say is it was after units were placed, after 8v8, and after FP was released. From there, it's anyone's real guess how old it is.
I suspect it's from the time when "mega quirks" were being a thing to compensate for the Clans, which threw massive imbalance within the game. The 4J still isn't bad though, and I still bring it out from time to time myself. (It was the first mech I ever owned (or piloted) on this game after all...)

Currently, you can get an assist for:
- If the enemy dies in any way. (This obviously needs to be met.)
- If you damaged the enemy in any way.
- If said enemy damaged you in any way. (Took me a long time to figure this one out.)
Getting a lock on an enemy doesn't give you an assist as far as I'm aware... but those mystery times when a player does 0 damage yet gets 8 assists are explained by them being shot at by 8 enemy mechs who died during the match. (For a long time, I though the assists were counting those incidental ram damages to allies who got dropped counting as an assist to yourself... so I almost reported it as a bug several times... but then I dug a little deeper.)

This is relevant information that I was always curious about as well. Thanks for the heads-up.

But still a goody.
I just like this because astoundingly no one bothered to even shoot at me.
Until the end of the match.
This would never happen nowadays.
I do have some fives and sixes though.
Hmmm now where did I put those?

Anyone who has been playing long enough, and half way decent enough, should have by now gotten their 'Ace of Spades'.
It's Deathstar that's brutally difficult to get (except for that period of time where server connections were so unreliable you had 23 other people regularly disco'ing in a match)...

All my IS LRMs, with the exception of the LRM20, are in the 20's.
What is weird, though, is that my C-LRM20 is the only one of my C-LRMs in the 20's as well. What's going on?

I can be rather selective of what targets I'll shoot at. I also seem to "specialize" (term used loosely) in jump LRMing. I also have more mixed builds than most people with LRMs, so I have fewer tubes on my mech with more direct fire weapons. Often times, I treat the LRMs as a secondary weapon.
Beyond that, it's probably all in how we use them.
Edit: PS: The Weapon Stat page has been known to show incorrect data... so that also needs to be considered. I've once had a weapon with stats that I apparently never brought into a fight...

Don't know if they fixed that.

As I said not all lrm mediums are garbage (treb7m, hunch2c come to mind), but most are, and certainly all lights
Best thing about good lrm mediums is they are also good narcers with JJs, so you'd generally run lrms+narc
Where's lrm heavys and assaults are the real POWA of lrms carry 60-95 tubes with 4-5.5k ammo and you can just spam away with disregard that you're hitting terrain most of the time, and still put up numbers at the end of the drop that make you feel like a good player. If you don't hit terrain as much you can do 3k in one mech without much effort. Though I have not yet done 3k/single mech since the patch, I suspect it's still possible

The correct terms are:
m; Lurm-Jet,
f; Lurm-tart.
I would like to mention for clarity and for the sake of it, it use to be referred to as Jump-sniping before the term "poptart" was coined.
So, I do believe that "Jump LRMing" is perfectly viable and correct, and I've never heard anyone refer to it as anything else until now.
