Oh I am still tempted. This one looks more like a Marauder to me than any other Marauder in game (unfortunately so), especially the cockpit.

The geometry also looks quite promising, except that cool but potentially vulnerable centerline cannon. But everything else... I think it will be a C-Bill unit for me, since assaults are not my favourites.

So much salt already... not that I'm surprised.

I don't think people realize how brutal the Rocket HSL+2 quirk on the MAD-4HP is going to be to play against.

I, for one, do not relish the idea of eating 340 damage in just over a second.

I do however look forward to doing it to other people. MAD-4HP

Should be fun at least. And its not like I'm not getting enough other value out of my MW5 preorder.

maybe the Center line cannon, is removed, if people don't use the hard point

Look,

Whatever other people whinge about with regards to the meta, and whatever other people think is wrong about the stats...

The truth is, I'm still going to have a blast driving this thing. Will it be some OP monster? Maybe, maybe not. I cannot possibly be the only person left playing the game that doesn't give a crap about the meta-game. I'm a thoroughly average player that has thoroughly average stats that sometimes gets a good match in. That's good enough for me.

Bring on the Marauder II, I've been waiting long enough.

I agree with you. I too am an average player who sometimes have a good match. But I enjoy playing the game. I have the Stalker, Marauder, Marauder IIC,and now this one. I will probably die alot because I don't play the META but I will have agood time trying to do my best for my team.

It has occurred to me that the 6S can field the loadout of my favourite Marauder variant of all time from The Crescent Hawk's Revenge - the Marauder+. Hmmm...

That top cannon is nicely situated, in some of the pictures remaining hardpoints in the side torsii are mounted high. It may end up with decent hardpoint placement. Additionally the IIC has a good frontal profile for spreading damage by wiggling side to side. If the II has a similar hit geometry layout, this could be a decent 'Mech.

I've played around 200 Solaris matches within past twelve days.
Your problem is a lack of persistence.
If you can't find anyone currently queued, pick a division, queue in there and occupy yourself with something else (perhaps reading the forums or watching YouTube) while you wait for a match.
After the first launch frame where you don't get an opponent, you will receive queue priority and will be guaranteed a match in the nearest launch frame that has at least one available opponent.

How does the countdown work nowadays?
I thought there would be bits daily until release, but the important ones (quirks) are out for a time already and tonight there was nothing added.

Maybe those less than stellar agility values will be somewhat cushoned by those Juicy 100-ton JumpJets.
Still, while it wont be the new Meta, it really does not need to be

I am confused, the one variant has an HSL +1 for er ppc... but only 2 energy hardpoints.... I thought penalties didn't kik in until the 3rd erppc...

The 360 Engine cap is going to kill this mech, more so than the trash structure quirks (oh boy, more overheat buffer for a mech that's terrible heat management can be instantly improved with DHS and replacement of PPCs with LPLs) it's a 100 ton IS assault. it should be able to mount a 400 rated engine for a 4/6 movement profile instead of 3/5 with the 300 (Standard engine for the MAD-II). 360 won't move you an additional hex in tabletop, and it's something that has annoyed me about this game for a very long time, max engine rating on IS mechs, especially heavies and assaults, has been stunted for years to knock down their maximum agility potential. This is the graceful Marauder II. It should not have agility stats equivalent to the pondersome atlas, also, mechs like the marauder and timber wolf having severely limited arm yaw despite hyper-extending actuators etc.

PPC and Gauss got their ghost heat penalty combined to try and stop people from Gauss+Peep comboing, it's a band-aid fix for a greater balance issue that's fixed by introducing dispersion and EM interference from high energy weapons fire, but that'll never happen.
