Nosey. If you must know, the seat has a hole for those needs. And a mini fridge stocked with mead.

There was actually a case in the news a year back, some guy was driving along the road when he saw/heard a woman being mauled by a bear, so he stoppe dhis truck, got out and ran at the bear, with his knife. Several stitches worth of claw marks later he won. stuff like that actually happens a lot up here.

We get bear sightings in my neighborhood once every few years. And an old dying one (dying ones are the worst, they have nothing to lose and will charge at anything they think they can catch) was shot just a few miles away from here when the bear charged this guy, who luckily was carrying a .458 Casull magnum as his concealed carry pistol. the bear dropped just a few feet from him.

Well, it's a proper Russian bear. :D

Alaska was Russian not that long ago. :)

Alaska was never really colonized by the Russians, they would sail by on their ships, trade for furs, and they set up a few very small forts/ outpost, thats about it. the interrior was still owned by the natives when the Americans got here. The Russians also set up outpost in what is now California but nobody says California used to be Russian...

That's because nobody likes California. It's not nearly as awesome as Alaska.

I'd love to visit California some day. I want to see Redwoods in person.

I've been a few times. About all I've seen is LA, though I did get up to the Santa Cruz (I think, was ages ago) area once.

I suppose California must be nicer outside of the cities, cause I sure didn't see the appeal.

Europe is nice, too.

For someone from Scandinavia, things in USA are more alien and feels a bit bad. :)

Eh, Paris blew, was there for 3 weeks with work. Got bronchitis, then the wife and her friend made me walk up the Eiffle Tower.

Been to Southern England and the Scottish Borders, loved both of those. Was supposed to hit the Highlands a couple years ago but stupid Travelocity never actually booked our tickets. That was unpleasant.

Are you saying you're Scandinavian? I thought you were Czech.

Edit: In hindsight, Paris probably wasn't as horrible as my memory makes it out to be. Working from before sun up to after sun down in a tightly secure room with minimal breaks, and everyone getting sick (another guy even ended up with pink eye) colored my memory.

Having been through most of the US, I can honestly say that the heavily urbanized areas really, truly, do suck. A lot of the rural areas are nice, but when you get down to RURAL there is usually no inbetween. You've got uber developed and then you got middle of nowhere. I've lived in both and they can both suck. Middle of nowhere can be tens of miles from ANYTHING in some points in the US. A lot of people simply overlook just how vast this country is.

That being said, I would love to visit Iceland and Sweden sometime. My dream is to move to Trollhattan. Possibly work for Saab.
