Why should the opinion of the lowest % of the populous matter?

Coz the lowest 35% have 35 times more players than the top 1% and they buy mech packs.
If Match maker worked their would be less problems

being a 1% is just a rich folks way of saying: I'm a minority...but actually no.

It's not so much keeping up, it's that the enemy Lights catch up to you pretty quick. You either stop and turn slowly to fight, which means you are dead, or you keep up with the rest of the team and hope that your rear armor holds up.

Slow twist and mech speed matters less the further out you catch the light. In other words, it pays to watch the common approach angles and drive the lights off before they get close. An assault that allows a light into ankle biting range is a very generous assault indeed.

I actually don't see the problem with enemy lights arriving quickly though. You'll have three big buddies with you and they'll be coming in piecemeal. Just take them out. This part is really annoying with nascar threads. A lot of nascar whiners call their teammates cowards and accuse them of trying to run away from the enemy. The whiners are also guilty of the same plan, they're just less successful at it.

Oh comeon, you know exactly why they can't take them out.
1) aiming is hard!
2) because aiming is hard we bring LRM80 with 2 small lazzors for backup
3) then we start the point-and-click adventure with every single red box that pops on our screen for just a second
4) because we embark on that point-and-click adventure and beacuse we brought LRMs instead of actual weapons we can't hit anything but dirt
5) waa waa ECM lights OP, PGI nerf nao
6) under 180m min range happy farming commence!
7) and then one out of four assaults from the assault lance that doesn't have lurms just leaves three others to die, because they are useless anyway
8) and finally we die and cry about how our team nascared even tho that fourth assault from the assault lance that happens to be a DireWolf has moved like 1km ahead of us and actually is leading said nascar

If i was just lights arriving when the assaults get left behind that would be OK
but usually it's all the lights & meds and the occasional confused heavy that arrives ...and they bring the lrm's from their assaults with them =)

Just let me put this into perspective ... Someone is in a mech, that is lagging like 1km behind his teammates, in the completely open field (because otherwise LRMs won't be an issue), and derping there long enough for the enemy HEAVIES to reach him ... I mean, do I really need to say more here?
