Is the issue of Mercs not being able to advance on their Merc ranks anymore going to be addressed?

Give me back my unit Standings!!!! I want to die for the Front Corn. It will be glorious and he who walks behind the rows will praise me for my sacrifice. I am a team player not a solo player and without my efforts benefitting my unit in some way shape or form I feel stripped of my boxing gloves.

iirc you cant refund your preorder if you redeemed any of the codes.

Pgi is a business. Businesses respond to money not players. Stop buying mech packs and mc. THEN they might listen.

There should be an incentive to join one of the two warring factions, instead of an obligation.

Such as the "slight boost" in C-bills, XP or loyalty points only applying to members of the two story related Factions. But members from the other Factions can join in too (without the benefit of that slight boost).

Also :
- Mercenaries should get their Mercenary points back.
- Mercenaries should be getting a slight boost in "Mercenary points", instead of a slight boost in C-bills.
- Freelancers "focus completely on earning revenue", so they should be the ones getting a slight boost in C-bills, but maybe keep the slight boost in XP too.

You can worry about changing who can switch side and when, depending on who they are, after you've put the missing players back into FP. Example :
- Loyalist can only change side between conflicts.
- Mercenaries can only change side between phases of a conflict.
- Freelancers can change side whenever they want to.

I have played with and against about every FW player that is worth a salt in this game. So I am going to weigh in my 2 cents.
1. The ability to self regulate population is key to faction warfare fundamentally working. We have to able to side switch in order to keep balance in this game mode.
2. Loyalist must be allowed to remain loyalist and it would be wise to offer incentive to remain loyalist. That can be accomplished through LP and or loyalist only (and I mean any loyalist faction) extra event rewards.
3. Event drive narratives could be as simple as how you accomplished the tuk events. Maybe have a leaderboard for top 10 players by weight class or by mode. For example X players had highest damage in skirmish. Or x players did the most capping on conquest. Just examples can be tweaked. Either way, the idea is to create a goal or payoff to participate in these events beyond lore.
4. Reward people for joining teams and make being part of the same unit beneficial. The best way to enjoy mwo FP is with other teammates.
5. Remove incursion from FP all together, it’s simply not needed in wave based combat.
6. Rework Boreal Vault so it’s easier for an attacking team to at least get the gates open.
7. Keep the matchmaker system so at the very least it tries to group vs group as much as possible.


There’s a very simple old saying “keep it Kiss”.

If for some reason they can’t roll the change back, what if they set the events up as one day events only and rolled though the factions?
So, we have 10 faction (not including Smoke Adder, Nova Cat and Diamond Shark since they don't have a presence on the map) so end the Wolf v Rasalhague fight today. Once that’s done roll through all the faction’s day by day.

Set the Map to 3050
Friday: Falcon – Steiner fight on Barcelona
Saturday: Smoke Jag - Kurita on Turtle Bay
Sunday: Ghost Bear – Rasalhague on Constance
Monday: Davion – Liao on St Ives
Tuesday: Marik – Davion on Wazan
Wednesday: Wolf – Rasalhague – New Caledonia

Set the modes up by hours. During the lower population hours set it to scouting. During the medium population hours set it to Assault or Conquest etc. and the prime time hours set it to Siege.

Obviously not ideal but at least that way the Loyalist are getting a fight every 6 days while they’re coming up with a way to fix this if its not easy to roll the changes back out.

I only play QP, but every once in a while when there is a big change I check in on FP again, and it's always a dumpster fire.

This just reinforces my theory that whoever was really good at game design at PGI did the initial quickplay structure, with everything set up for good, quick, fun matches on reasonably-sized (for 8v8) maps. Click one button -> play a quick match -> repeat. Great moment-to-moment gameplay, easy to learn hard to master, simple and fun.

Then whoever that was left the company, and since then the remaining folks have been trying really hard but only making things worse. It seems like every iteration of CW/FP has been a UI and/or gameplay disaster.

I would like to know how the new FP Systems works in regards to loyalist LP maluses. Up till now you received -LP for fighting against other factions. Is this still the case? So was the Paul Inouye solution to give the loayalists new goals in game just to reduce the amount of FP games where you can get relevant LP for your desired Faction while you should better not take part in other events as you might loose historic LP in other factions you would probably play later?

So the plan was to further slow down loyalists faction progress overall to get more players motivated to play?

If you think that's bad, Mercs can't advance through the Merc ranks PERIOD now. Merc LP is zero per match.

This was already pointed out indirectly in the patch notes: Posted Image

End-of-match rewards:
  • Freelancers receive a 5% XP boost for every match they play.
  • Mercenaries receive a 5% C-Bill boost for every match they play.
  • Loyalists continue earning Loyalty Points (LP) for loyalist titles and rewards. (Note: Additional functionality will be added towards Loyalty Points in a future patch)
