This has been infuriating me as well. I alt+tab while waiting for a match. The orange flash is my notice that a match is ready. Now I have to sit there and watch the damn clock or risk missing my 60seconds to hot swap my mechs. Which isn't enough btw. And while we are airing grievances...drop decks should be free and not cost MC!

I played 5 FW matches last night and couldn't agree more with these good points. Honestly I missed the 24 hrs of scouting which would of been terrible but from what Paul has said that was a one off. I think if the scouting component of the phases is kept to a minimum like 1hour and it ties in with the phase well we could live with it and the only other real issue is the how to not penalise the loyalist units. The absolute best change IMO is the dropping of the 10 probation matches, in 5 games I levelled up the twice for clan Wolf.

The death of the ghost drop is okay on one hand, but on the other now you can just sit there waiting for hours without even the 250K to compensate you for your wasted time. C-bills aren't real, you don't need to try saving them, PGI.

While this person is entitled to his own decisions This seems like a bit of an over reaction. I guess this change could of been the straw that broke the camels back for him with MWO but I think everyone needs to give this a bit of time.

thank you for the effort. I'm waiting now for almost 30 min in the FP source for a drop, we are 12- 13 people and the opponent 2-6( Wait Warrior online )..... then rather a ghostdrop please. The desire to play with every day decreases. but I still remain faithful MW FAN
5 Games in 4 hours ..... please that kill FP

It was most certainly the straw that broke the Camel's back, but that said, it was a bit more than a straw. His whole reason for playing was the Faction Play loyalist system, and getting to be Ghost Bear with his brothers (the unit). That was completely taken away from him. The game he was here to play no longer existed. You can't fault him for not playing a game that doesn't exist.

Now, we are trying to get him to hold off on clicking the button to delete his account for a little bit, to see if PGI will roll back the patch, but if they do not, he his completely justified in his decision, and more will follow.

I sat for 15 minutes. Finally got in a game, then a third of the team decide that playing as part of the team is not the plan and run a round the edge of he map to perma-kill a DC. All the while the rest of us get roflstomped by the other 11 enemy 'mechs. So if it isn't PGI force feeding us ******** then its the players themselves acting like ******* morons.

I give up with this **** and I'll only put up with QP for a little while before I (finally) put this game out to pasture.

Ok... so after a BUNCH of meetings and discussions... we have some things we'll be addressing including what I mentioned earlier in this thread (Varying game modes during a phase, swapping factions between phases, shortening phase durations) plus a few more topics. I still need some critical information from the devs and one of them is ill at the moment but I should have a much clearer set of information I can pass off to you in terms of what can happen, what can't happen, hopefully some ballpark time estimates etc.

With Russ' podcast tomorrow, I'm going to try to document and post my update as soon as he's finished his podcast.

TL;DR - News incoming but will be tomorrow.

anyway: pls fix that on a not-live-server. and take your time, nobody is in a rush.
but in the meantime, give us back the faction from pre-patch.
it is the cleanest solution there is ... riiiight?

People now need to realize that these fixes might take a little while.

From reading this thread though I think the loyalist fixes are what needs prioritizing the most. Is there any way we can have allied factions, ie all Clans v All IS with LP bonus for the event driven factions? I think this would allay most loyalist issues for the time being. This would mean all events would remain a Clan V IS battles but this is better than current until a more robust system is developed.

The bigger problem is allowing IS v IS and Clan v Clan events, with out running these events concurrently (something the system can't do?) I don't see any solution that doesn't exclude some loyalists at some point. Personally I really enjoyed the ISvIS on the PTS as it was a nice change of pace.

I really enjoy the IS v IS and Clan v Clan so I hope that stays as a recurring periodic event. Then just allow all Claners to fight for Wolves and all IS to fight for Rasalhague in current event. and for those of mercenary mind we just jump on which ever side as a loyalist for the duration of that conflict and happy days.
