Update: Engineers have put the phase Faction swap through its paces and good news...there's going to be a patch tomorrow to address the first step forward of allowing Faction swapping between Phases.

Also: The flashing icon in your task bar is also updated to only flash if you are put into a match.. not at the end of the 2 min timer.

Really good news, thank you.

not sure if this got mentioned yet or not, but is there a chance of there being findable an update calendar of events, so we can plan for playing fp?

I've seen this request a lot. Will have to look into it after we get the multiple game modes per phase stuff done. Reason is, the multi-game modes per phase allows us to lengthen conflicts a bit and allow us to have a more defined schedule. If we have that, then showing who's on deck is not a problem.

I have a couple of questions:

Alliances
At the present moment the concept here is to define and set (hardcode) the alliances.
Is it possible to have more of a player driven initiative as to the composition of these alliances each event?
ie:
When an even is announced with two factions at the center of the conflict, can the Loyalists of the other factions vote if and who they want to support in that conflict?
Eg:
It's Davion vs Kurita at the centre of a conflict.
As Jade Falcon Loyalists we put it to the vote to see if we will wade into this conflict, or not, for one of those sides.

This brings back a bit of the player driven faction politics and puts the choice in our hands while the event still has that story driven aspect. We used to vote for our enemies, this is an adaption of that earlier functionality.

Making sure everyone is involved regardless of the event.
The biggest complaint I keep seeing is simply not having enough players on both sides of the conflict to create the matches.
This is all those screen shots about having 29 players on one side and only 1 on the other.
This is where all the prompts for being allowed to switch sides are coming from just to enable matches.
However, is it possible to simply include everyone, every faction, in the conflict and only count the victories from the factions and any allies towards the story goal?
In the mean time we all fight it out anyway..... defending ourselves against hostile forces on different fronts is still as important as the offensive provided by the conflict.
ie.
It's Davion vs Kurita.
As a Davion Loyalist if we fight the Kuritans it is part of the event and our victories go towards the objective of our faction.
As Clan Jade Falcon, if we could pick our alliance with Davion for this conflict, our victories also go towards Davion's total when we fight Kurita or their allies as it serves our need.
As a Marik Loyalist, I don't mind if they kill each other so we've abstained from this conflict. I'm not going to help either side but by dropping into battle I can effectively pull forces from either side of the conflict and force them to engage my forces which hampers their deployment (victories) on their offensive. My victories don't total to anything as we are not part of the event but I can still get all the other bits from fighting and representing my faction.

Wouldn't a change like this be something that could be done as part of the outcome from each battle? A quick check to see if my faction is allied or not?

The only other change I see is with the team composition but seeing as this is about loyalists and also units, having single faction teams seems like a good thing.

The different missions in the phases
Does this need to be set in stone with different durations for each phase?
Can the completion of the missions be directed at the player level instead of at the faction level?
ie.
Davion is mounting a week long offensive against Kurita. They need more successful campaigns from their troops than then Kuritans to determine the success of the offensive.
As a Davion loyalist though, a single campaign consists of successfully completing 1 scouting, 1 conquest and 1 siege mission. Each time I complete 1 of each I have successfully completed 1 campaign for my faction and added to that total.
Using a mission vote might be a good idea here as inevitably a player will need to catch up on one of the missions.

The suggestion here though is to not lock players into missions within a phase (eg: 24 hours of scouting) and to also make it a bit more personal rather than having it set at the higher overarching faction level.

I don't see that we would need to split the queue for this either.

Could you clarify this please?

Does "address the first step forward" mean lay some sort of foundation for allowing players to swap factions, or does it mean this will be implemented with the hotfix?

As per the roadmap part of the original post, this is item #3 as written. Items 4 and 5 are scheduled for the June patch.

I'm negotiating a possible additional item but until I get a clear answer from the devs, I won't comment on it... but I will say it's about Faction switches.

So it looks like the June patch is going to bring the rest of the list in the OP. That means multiple game modes per phase and the conflict Faction population indicator.

Note: You will lose your queue priority.

finally. thx paul.
if you pls could adjust the countdown timer-"found a match, prepping it" from 60sec to 90 or 120, you'll see many happy campers around here.

Lobby prep time has been increased from 60 seconds to 90 seconds. If this is still too short, we can bump it up to 120. We can change this value real time, however, it is not persistent between patches until we lock down the duration you are all happy with. Just remember, 120 seconds (2mins) is a lonnnnng time if you've launched with a pre-prepared drop deck.
