MWO has gone quite a distance - may it do some miles more...
But it has no content worth a subscription...

Had a lot of cool moments in MWO.
Started to play to lead a unit one more time (after Tribes 2 and Eve online).
Worked out well for some time. But like everything else in life MWO will end and I guess sonner rather than later.
Thanks for all the fish!

Not everyone wants a "thinking man's shooter".
Sometimes it's nice to kick back, relax and blow some 'mechs up in spectacular fashion.

Mech packs ... I haven't bought one in a year or two. It's not an editorial on the game. But for me the game reached a point about 2 years ago where I had a 'mech for every really distinctive play style. I'd have to look REAL hard to figure out what exactly I'm missing.
If they do release new 'mechs, I'm mainly hoping for some missing 3025 staples that can feed into MW5:M and HBS BT. Again I don't think MWO "needs" anything.

That being said, I hope they are able to support it for another year or two, and I hope for an Urbie IIC before they start winding it down.
I've already pre-ordered MW5 and from what I've seen it will be great, if it is a success I can see them release a Multiplayer DLC down the line, would be amazing if at that point you could import your existing MWO catalogue into the game, I don't think anybody has ever done something like that and it would be the biggest thank you to supporters of this game ever. To clarify this is a suggestion not a demand, the nature of digital content means they can close shop today and owe you nothing, and I would be ok with that too, bummed for sure, but ok.

I mean, we played MW4 entirely in 3rd person, so that seems a strange thing to complain about. The problem that MechAssault had wasn't that it was MechWarrior Lite, it was that it was MechWarrior Lite without anything else on the horizon for the other side of the fanbase. A MechAssault 3 would not have that issue in today's climate, because we already have MW5 and Battletech currently active. Albeit, they would do well to try and link all three games together so they compliment one another while not stepping on each other's toes. Difficult to do with the 3025 thrust, but not impossible.

In my opinion, MechWarrior Online has been the best adaptation of a first-person mechsim for a long time that isn't some overly Japanese-Anime hyper maneuverable copypasta like Armored Core or Front Mission. And, don't get me wrong I like those games as well, but BattleTech/MechWarrior are a totally different flavor that I prefer.
I, like I'm sure a lot of you have, have spent a Lot of money on this game, and would love to see it continue to flourish. I think the issue here is that PGI as a company, as many of you have said, has made poor decision regarding the game, including using an engine that was even for it's time dated and has aged poorly with no optimization, leaned too much on paid injection content, let certain elements of the game stagnate, and ignored it's players. The last point is the hardest hitting one, especially for an F2P game with ''Freemium'' options.
Sure, they brought us mechs we requested, but as another user pointed out, they were poorly quirked, if quirked at all, and didn't fit their roles as well as they could have. The example used was the WHM-IIC, which I personally think is a great mech, but could have been better. I've seen people form negative opinions on the chassis based solely on the free mech that was released for playing during Xmas, and I agree that THAT variant in particular is pretty bad, but overall the chassis isn't as horrid as people make it out to be. I agree that certain variants bring that ''why does this exist/perform badly/have **** builds'' (looking at you corsair) ideal directly to the table, but regardless everyone's play style is different and not every variant works for everyone.
I think that PGI should get together with notable members of the player base (not just the more popular Twitch streamers/Youtube content creators) and work on getting thins set right. Have a player voice IN the development... Which is sadly already seeming as just a pipe dream in the current state of affairs. I've noticed time and time again Russ Bullock will do whatever HE wants, and listen to no one when it comes to development for the game, which is poor on his part.
MWO has been a big part of my life since release. I've probably played this game more hours than I have any other, even World of Warcraft. It pains me to see it in it's current state.
