Don't make people wait 9 or so months before things come out for cBills.

Inflate hardpoints, take off hand actuators and make bad mechs good so they are fun to play, not everything needs to be a Deathstrike but bad mechs aren't going to sell beyond nostalgia buys.

Add. Normalize isXL with cXL/LFE - with current damage setup no mech should die with 1st loss of ST, each engine would have a different percentage for Heat Dissipation/Movement penalties, with isXL w/highest and LFE lowest.

Remove no damage under minimum range. Damage should scale down quickly.

Weapon mount locations, especially torso locations - a player should not have to add an energy weapon to get the next one pushed up to a higher location (ex. Enforcer and left torso)

Arms - provide ability to raise an arm at a time to a more horizontal level, humanoid mechs more so than chicken walkers.

It's dead again!? What killed it this time?

PGI, because they are in maintenance mode now. They're no longer developing the game.

A smarter businessman would have shut the hell up. Here's to the rule of don't drink too much beer before a dev stream.

It sounds like Russ isn’t making enough money for beer, he’s switched to drinking Scope out of the medicine cabinet. It’s cheaper and has a minty flavor.

Now I understand why I can’t play this game except blasted drunk.

The concept of prepaying content six months ahead is virtually unheard in the F2P market. This model guarantees a mediocre product because all you need is to produce the product by the deadline, and quality doesn't matter. It only requires adherence to the lore as the minimum clearance.

The other side of the coin is to release too good a product, and this can lead you to the other treacherous path of pay 2 win.

I'd argue it was the other way around though. The only reason PGI was able to sell 'mech packs profitable was that they WERE good. A 'mech pack is essentially a pile of 3D assets with some stats thrown in. I don't think anyone would argue the 3D arts assets aren't a strong point of MWO. People paid for early-access because they wanted the latest 'mech p*rn, and in the present case the p*rn was really good.

Maybe the 'mech packs became a trap in that they were so profitable that it made little short/mid term sense to work on other stuff. And when PGI did, the effort went into FP and Solaris which never really became viable -- but that's a bunch of hindsight.

Anyway, the 'mech packs were good, and a key reason why we have HBS BattleTech too.

I knew mwo was going down the moment they announced mw5 and with all honesty i can say I have had pretty much near zero interest in an MW title made by pgi.

"MW5: in this climate for pre-orders, we did exceptionally well. Acknowledges some critics wont pre-order as they are negative about PGI. Some people - an increasing number, he feels - are positive. Feels the best way to address the critics is to release a great game. Believes MW5 will hold up even better and longer than MW4 because of technology base, modding capability, procedurally generated missions, co-op mode. Believes it will have decade or more of longevity. Reinforced importance of its success in terms of having any developer (including PGI) continue to develop MW titles into the future."

Literately the only thing about MW5 that has me paying any attention is just how mod capable and mod friendly it turns out to be. I hope that like Skyrim mods will make MW5 last me YEARS of entertainment trying different mods and such. It even made me want to learn Unreal to try and make my own mods until my finances shifted focusing on more important things.

But pgi is pgi. Their history and hit-and-miss past of handling mwo has me going "eh maybe it be worth buying on a sale." I mean it did take them near two full years just to fix the catapults after daily posts in that thread to get them fixed.

I really want Mwo to keep going but pgi just doesn't seem able to. The game really needs more than the running joke of mech packs or old-maps-as-new-reskin-this-map-as-new-content.

I haven't pre-ordered because they're only shipping via steam. They've hinted at other release platforms (ie. GOG/EPIC) but not given any solid info.

I didn't pre order because there is no interesting boni for MW5, and as we can see, not being enticed by all that MWO stuff was a good thing.
Now I can give PGI some money once they deliver something actually good.

WoT is far too big to die, but it ain't growing. Its gone too stale and there is no more 'real' tanks to put in, so its just one paper tank after another.

Most games have too much loot boxes and micro transactions to recommend.

Go catch up with your Netflix watch list or somethin'. If you got a console, go play Nier Automata if you have not played it already.

Basically its hard to recommend any game now except for a packaged single player one because the game industry is so corrupt with loot boxes and micro transactions that they are ripe for a wave of regulatory disruption from the US to China to the EU.

Congratulations Russ and PGI, what a shower of ******* clowns, 7 years of stupid decisions one after the other and now this last deathblow. At least you'll be in the hall of fame with the other devs who royally screwed up their games.

F and out.

The "F" is an internet meme referencing the "press F to pay respects" soldier funeral scene from a Call of Duty game.

Had PGI stopped micromanaging this game and so called "Balance", it would most likely have been more popular and possibly better in earnings return.

I'd stop with the adding new mechs and take things back just before the engine de-synch. failing that take the heat penalty back down where it was 1st half of last year.

Finally, PLEASE let the user community have the tools to add in skins or Textures for the mechs we have. I myself have done this many times for other games such as IL-2, Freespace 2 etc. All we need is the complete UV Map(s) to create new master templates and I'll crank them out like there's no tomorrow.
I guarantee folks will come back if you do the above and even bring in more new folks. It's about having the community be PART of this game besides just playin it.

So PGI, how bout it? Savvy? Posted Image

Wow, so congrats, PGI, last few days steam charts showing more than 50% drop in steam users playing MWO. Looks like its gonna die sooner that expected.
