To go back to the discussion, #1 as previously pointed out, there are ALREADY anti-cheat provisions in the game, PGI has publicly stated as much. Just because it's not Brand X's package doesn't mean it doesn't exist, nor does the lack of of anything bragging about it in game remove it from the table either.

#2 I've never said I'm against anti-cheat. I've specifically said, based on the observations that PGI DOES have anti-cheat measures on hand, uses them, has a server authoritative arch that precludes 99% of common cheats from being possible, and in game I just don't see that much 'suspicious' game play that I'd prefer what limited dev time we do get for the game to go towards adding actual game impacting content to keep the game alive. The only area outside of new content that warrants dev time at the moment, in my opinion is looking at the recent increase in heat bug incidents. Stomping that out would be a change that would actively, positively impact my game experience. Time spent bodging in someone else's anti-cheat package into an aging game engine at best does nothing to improve my game experience as I'm already not seeing cheating in action, and at worst triggers an uninstall if it behaves badly with anti-virus/etc like many do. (Just had a friend told by LoL tech support to completely disable Bitdefender when playing, not just exclude it... W T F?!)

How is it out if context, arguing semantics is out of context. Prototelis and Brauer knew very well what I meant when I said content but instead chose to straw my argument and are now you are paying the price for it for taking and running with it. So tell me, who doesn't understand context here? And yeah I agree, English is an inefficient medium for communication.

Then the answer is simple. Slap a..JPG on the MWO splash page for PGI Pirahnna Byte Anti-cheat ™ and none would be the wiser as to if it's proactive or a retroactive(current system) anti cheat software. And a majority of hackusations over there being no anti-cheat systems would melt away from the forums. Simple and done. But then I doubt that'll happen anytime soon due to the state of MWO.

An example of complaining about there being no anti-cheat system in a game where a publicly visible anti cheat logo is visible every time the game starts up?

It won't stop people from complaining about cheaters, but it definitely will stop people from complaining about there being cheaters because there is no anti-cheat system in the game and reduce the number of complaints about cheating overall.

My point is the hackusations won't stop because the problem isn't the program it is the players who refuse to improve.

If you want I can pull up a screenie off my old pc, I don't stack or pad my stats like some players.

I only have one account, once I hit rank 1 I went back to leveling new mechs instead of waiting for the season to end. Simple as that.
