hah lol please. Epic reimburses for lost preorders.

They get the money you spend + a big stack of cash no matter what.

"mod support" is a mod manager and a free CMS.

You're still going to be able to mod the game.

7.) FOR WHICH PLATFORM AND DELIVERY METHOD AM I PRE-ORDERING?
  • The MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries pre-order received through the Community Edition is for PC only.
  • The Community Edition Pre-Order program will provide you with a key to the Steam version of MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries and the other Digital Content upon the game's release. The key(s) will be provided through your profile on this site.

Yeah, just blowing smoke just like Phoenix Point, Shenmue 3, Metro Exodus, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, and probably some others I am forgetting.

Really it should teach us all to not pre-order or back projects. Just wait till it launches before buying (in some cases months after). I normally don't pre-order, but this franchise has a tendency of getting me to do that, and unfortunately I got burned this time for my trouble.

Future, for franchise just got buried. Nice joke.

The AMA will not change my mind, personally speaking. Sorry, but I feel that the exclusivity is wrong on a consumer level. My problem is with Epic and their decision to force this type of activity. While it frustrates me to see MW5 go this route, I bear no particular enmity toward PGI. However, I will not buy it until it is available on other platforms.

Yes, Steam did need viable competition, and having more options is a good thing. Unfortunately all making exclusives does is make things worse for consumers. Just wait until Steam and GOG start doing exclusives, and then the exclusives will become permanent. Perhaps companies will decide subscription models are the way to go, and consumers can all just pay monthly fees to access games instead of buying them....Every time I look at digital distribution for games and film, it gets worse and more firmly anti-consumer, so I will fight it in the only way I can.

Honestly,I disagree with Russ. He wont convince anyone, and he wont earn any good will with it. Im glad i didnt preorder.

I hope the payday was worth it Russ. I really do,because PGI seems really good at burning bridges, ever since the CBT.

Microsoft should just yank this licence already. PGIs done enough damage to Mechwarrior as a name.

*Edit: my god, looking over the trello board, simple operational features aren't even active on Epic yet...I just cannot support this absolute bulls***t any longer.

It gets better.
They didn't have e-mail verification until last week.If you created an account with a typo in your e-mail... as soon as that account got logged out you lost everything you had on it.
Oh, and shopping cart? They started banning customers from their platform because those customers purchased multiple products in succession. During a sale.

becuase coming out with Epic store exclusivity while there have been pre-orders for most of the year is absolutly scummy.
if it had been known from the get go i would simply be disappointed but not *deeply* annoyed like i am now.

sorry but... no.
just no.

It's not the end of the world, just wait for MW5 EPIC exclusivity to end, get it on Steam for 75% off, and at that point the mods will be ready to fix the game.

The real idiots that the ones doing the beta testing for free

I will probably wait until it's included in my Humble Monthly subscription.

It's almost a year... Gotta get the hype train going again to see if PGI hold to their word and release it on GoG and Steam.

November was the release if I remember right.
So be patient.
But do not expect a good game.
Even mods do not help much.

Well, we are still waiting for official news. Being committed to release on XBOX, I can see they might want to avoid another CP2077. So they might take some extra time where possible.

I'm pretty sure that the CP2077 excuse was ******** from the get go. Just like the Epic Deal under the works when they announced it for steam, they were working out with a deal with EG7 long before the CP2077 was even delayed.

As for the Steam release, eh, going to give it June. Then again, if they have the tenacity to sell it at full price, after 1 year of release no-less, when the game itself isn't even worth 60$ with that quality, I ain't buying it on steam release day.

pgi are currently working on their xbox port. might have been something ms asked for before renewing the mw license. the dlc likely got put on the back burner to do this, so its probably not in a releasable state right now.

Because its a great recap of how not to treat your fanbase and paying customers Posted Image

Honestly at this point i don't care if it ever comes to Steam.. I'll avoid it as i have avoided it so far, mistakes were made and they pay for it sorry.
