Or adding a 3man to a group already filled with 4 solos etc.
You fear people will leave the game fighting in a 12 man against one 2man group ?????
you will lose lots of players with that matchmaker, cause you cannot play with your friends this way...

Just for reference, when there was a mixed queue we only had IS mechs, NO IN-GAME VOIP, no command wheel and no real change with the crappy chat window. Most groups utilized 3rd party VOIP, primarily Teamspeak, a side could have more than 1 group, nor could anyone tell who was in an actual group.
My option to adding duo to drop into the Solo queue
1. Max 2-man group
2. Uses highest Tier (Tier 1 + Tier 4 drops as Tier 1, no average)
3. Different weight classes only... potentially 1 weight difference (assault/heavy, med/light)
4. Other team's group would need to match the weight class (debatable but see above to assist search engine)
5. 2-man can opt into the SQ but CANNOT opt out GQ.....
6. 2-man pilots are completely locked out of other games until current match, be it SQ or GQ, has ended.
7. As long as PGI allows only 1 duo and both sides has a 2-man for that match, the match should be noted but I do not believe it should not the actual 2-man group itself.
Now, for the Group Queue.
1. Max 8-man teams only (or 9-man teams)
2. Current or modified max tonnage/team
3. Allow Solo to opt into GQ but cannot opt out of SQ
4. Max 3 solo/side.
example 1x8-man, 1x2-man, 1 solo
Make selected options always visible, no drop down windows.
1. At the same time update the PSR, increasing the thresholds on break even and movement.
2. Would also prefer actual Matchscore (MS) be utilized across 2 tiers initially before opening up to a 3rd tier.
3. Of the above, #1 should be done.
Depending on how long PGI intends to keep MWO going after MW5 goes lives will be dependent on player retention, both current and new players, as well as any changes they make to capitalize with the new players.
Edit... Just to add.. isXL automatic death on 1st ST destruction needs to go. I liked parts of Protelis quote here...

moot discussion, anyway.
The MM is working as coded, though not how many players would expect it to be coded though...... Tier then weight class. Now talk about how one actually moves up in Tiers via the PSR.. Tier 1/2 is simply a microcosm of the actual Tiers 1-5...

it is - and it's coded in a BAD way.
-you do 2 (okay, 1-5) games to be t4
-you do some more to be t3
-you do some more to be t2
-you do some more to be t1
-everybody ends in t1 very quickly, and the MM just throws those t1 people, which all are equal to him, into the teams.
there is NO meaningful measure involved how good said pilot is, and hence it's no wonder games go the 12:1 direction all the time.
anyway, PGI have no intention to change this, so I'll withdraw myself from that discussion. hf mates

Games go 12-1 in wc too. Players get horribly low scores as well. A certain executioner comes to mind.
Stomps happen because of the nature of the game which had each side consist of non-renewable assets. Snowball effect is a thing.
