Just imagine, you pre-order MW5 and next day PGI say something like: sorry, but no MW5 in EPICstore, MW5 will be now SOMENEWTHINGstore exclusive.

What is the new ship date?
  • MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is scheduled for release on December 10th, 2019.

What is the new Closed Beta access date?
  • The Closed Beta is currently set to go live for Community Edition owners on November 5th, 2019.
So, if you have the preordered Community Edition, you get it in November this year. If you go for pure Epic, you get to start Dec this year. If you wait for the exclusivity contract to end, then it will be "releasing" (not really) in 2020.

However, this is becoming another poor falsehood being posted in this thread. the game officially "comes out" in Dec 2019. I've been seeing a lot of false statements against PGI... again. I don't care if people are disappointed in PGI or upset with them, but please post accurate information to actually complain about...

I'm waiting when PGI stops playing around stores and finally release MW5 for Steam.
I have tons of patience for this. No need to rush anywhere.

I can't seem to find clear information on what version of the game we'll be getting now if we've still kept our community pre-order. Standard or Deluxe?

I do believe "neither" is the appropriate answer as of right now? At least in the unofficial channels at the moment. Depending upon what level of community preorder you got depends upon what extras you got. The highest tier of the community preorder seems to be like the Deluxe edition. The lowest Community pack seems to be the Standard with "extras", such as the music tracks.

Right now, we have this to go by for the Community preorder. PGI said they would update the MW5 site so people's profiles would show what they are getting.

Like "GM Patience", one of the moderators, promised the Website has updated its information. Everyone who logs in to his account on the MW5 website should see what he has ordered.

Thank you both, that clears it up nicely!

I had pre-ordered the "Ultimate", which looks like will equal the "Deluxe", so no further purchases should be necessary to access digital content if I'm reading that correctly.

It also raises a question what do they mean with "fundamently different" with other platforms?

Gosh PGI you should realy get yourself together with your announcements. This raises more questions than it answeres.
I get that you don't want to commit yourself 15 month in advance to say "Yes you can get a steamkey". This also kinda reads as if you don't have a deal with steam yet and that is why you can't tell us if people will get a steamkey. Fine, kinda get it.

What are the two technical issues? One is that there will be another version for other platforms? What will be the differance? Are the properly better? Do they have extras?
And....what is the other issue?

Wasn't the license running out this year or had allready? Also its not what I would call a technical issue but contract or plain license issue but as I understand it he was talking about two technical issues?

Frankly the way the sentance is phrased its strange.
" There are a number of reasons " - ok
"both known technical" - so two tech issues that we know of? What are these two, i don't know them.
"and potential future issus" - and something that might pop up in the future

or is it "a number of reasons that could be technical and unknown future issues"

My english dosn't seam to be good enough to take that appart or is there a -> , <- to many?
