The game has been in zombie mode for a while and now the legs are decaying and rotting to the bone to keep the corpse from standing up.

We no longer see the point. We want to play together, but simply can't.
If we try group que - we can't get a match. Even in a large group.
If we try faction play - we can't get a match. Even in a large group.
[Redacted]
2 vs 2 Solaris - no match.
So the only mode we can play in "together" is to sync drop into Quick play.. and then we don't get the same match, or are on opposite sides and it feels dumb.
So yeah..
It's been 2 months +
Don't see it happening any time soon..

I thought it was the lurm changes that was keeping you away.
Group queue is pretty dead but most people are able to get into CW matches. Since group queue died it's actually seen a bit of a resurgence.

When you want to do 1v1 have you tried private matches? Sure it dosn't give you credits and stuff but you can set it up however you like and play with any mech against each other outside of the confinments of Solaris. IIRC you even have the Solaris maps to play on and some more.
Also private matches are no longer gated by needing premium time or was it MC? Forgot what you needed back then but its free now. Had lots of fun with a friend in private matches when he was still playing. We tested out some of the craziest configurations there. Also made a guessing game where we didn't had a fixed tonnage and just selected a mech and run with it. Was quite funny when one selected an assault and the other a light and the next round you thought "Now I will take a medium to chase his light" but then he walked in with an assault...crazy, fun stuff.

what if this thing was broken intentionally to avoid showing us that the pop just tanked. of course pgi being pgi, either they did it wrong or was late and the initial downspike was inadvertently leaked.

Solaris was never going to hold people's attention. PGI should have known that before they even went for it. That entire effort could have and should have been put toward making a real FP game mode.

Some of us tried to warn PGI against making the skill-tree a flat upgrade system.
They didn't listen.
If you want some help finding what 'Mechs to use and how to build them, GrimMechs is a good source.

Nope. When it comes to balance changes, even when my all-time favorite weapon got nerfed to oblivion, I usually adopt the old Clan Wolf motto - Adapt, Survie, Thrive.
But you can't thrive if you can't get a match..

Ok fair enough. I don't find the changes to be as much of a nerf as you do but that isn't the point.
There really seems to be a bit of resurgence in CW though so maybe you can give that a shot if you feel inclined. Euro times zones I am told have a lot of small and puggish groups so should have some decent fights without as many stomps (although there are still groups around).

maybe the mode should have been something players actually wanted.

I totally agree... Should have spent the Dev hours on a good Faction Play mode..

Else I realy liked the change of pace/combat the 1:1 or 2:2 brought. Sadly they never made a "free for all" mode. The map exists...the one with the big ring at the second level.
