So, seeing as player population is low, group queue is hard to get into...

Is it time for A.I bots yet?

Would you guys like that? Could it save the game?

Direct competitor games like Vox Machinae already use Bots when there are not enough people on..

Why not MWO?

I guess A.I. is something PGI should have mastered by now, when we're just months away from MW5 mercs release..

I think Bots would be a good thing..

Many MP games use Bots to fill the spots. Is it time for MWO to use bots as well? MWO could've always used bots. Will PGI implement it for MWO? I doubt it.

Or instead of being ret@rded we can actually go back to 8v8, i.e. the way this game was always meant to be played.

Games with bots, knowing that its a bot you're facing it is quite obvious. After a while you will tire of it. No substitute for a real human.

Bots are only good for the beginner phases of new players, and then you transition them to playing against all human groups.

Bots have more skill than probably 90% of what’s left playing MWO.

I don't think it's fair to put the typical player up against bots. It'll drop the median winrate considerably.

The many nascards in this game might be indistinguishable from bots to many, but when you look at them closely you realize that while they barely show any intelligent behaviour they do show at least a pack mentality and proper basic neuronal responses to basic empirical stimuli believe what you will but bots are unable to achieve even that, not to mention they are a significant development effort which is impossible in a game that has no meaningful development going on.

Now if PGI cares even slightly about MWO it is urgent to go back to 8 Vs 8, should be a trivial thing to achieve, but I don't think PGI cares in the slightest about MWO any more. Get ready for the end of times, coming December the 31st.

AI is not a feasible idea for MWO, coding is too hard for PGI.. And they said so many times - no AI, discussion is pointless.
Also it is a PvP game, and should remain so, IMHO. For bots there will be MW5, in a year or so. Unreal engine should be easier for them.

Before they consider 8v8 they’d need to fix the matchmaker so that it doesn’t always dump all the AFKers and discos on blue team. That’s a handicap that’s bad enough in 10v12 would be even worse in 6v8

I'm pretty sure there are only 3-4 human players in each match already

I would like to believe that also but MWOs "AI" is super accurate so not true.

MWO's AI is an aim-bot. Both turrets and dummies in the training grounds. This is why they don't work with any non-homing projectiles.

No, if/when it gets to a point where you can't even fill QP matches it's better to just shut the game down.

Where not at that point, no problem getting QP games yet, but when that happens or when pgi decides it's time to close shop I feel 7-8 years is a perfectly reasonable lifespan for a game of this kind.

Bots? Have you forgotten the "Escort" mode? Tho I would not blame anyone for removing that from memory, but still.

We know escort and we know the academy
and that mw5 will be a "single" player game where you fight with and against bots.
Should pgi realy show their (hopefully increased) competence of progamming bots,
if they want to sell their next game (mw5) that is based on bots?

At least we have around 1 year after the release to test the ai
and than decide if we want to buy it or not from steam or maybe gog. Posted Image

You ever see the VIP tediously kick the last enemy to death for twelve minutes until you win by AI melee?

I wrecked a Annihilator and a Blood asp last night that simply walked pass me.
At 350 odd meters, while I dumped lurms into them the whole time.
After taking down the Annihilator the Blood Asp turned and started to face hug me.
Luckily a little Commando saved my lurmy butt.
Oddly enough the Asp had two AC's left, but didn't seem to be firing.
Yup has to be bots.

I had a Panther walk past me last night in my Shadow Cat. I fired at least 6 ppc shots into him and he never even reacted, just kept walking and doing other stuff. It was pretty weird, but that same match had a Supernova ignore me sniping from ~600 meters away with ppc shot after ppc shot while he traded long range fire with a teammate. He even ignored me when he went behind a rock to hide from my teammate. The good news for that team was my team was somehow worse and despite my 3 kills we lost 12-5.
