MWO made me appreciate IS tech within Battletech much more, yes there are tons of drawbacks but IS just hast so much more interesting options and builds to chose from ... CLAN is optimised were you can barely go wrong with stuff ... and that gets kind of repetitive quickly ... laservomit ecm timberwolf, gauss+laser deathstrike, UAC 10+5 boat MadCat 2, quad ERPPC Warhawk ... pretty straight forward, it works, done ... and it gets old quick ...

IS: ... MRMs, RACs, snubs, HPPC or light PPCs just to give a couple examples ... immidiately more mix and match options to play arround with the already avialable stuff ... more room for tinkering ...

Adding Plasma Rifles (IS) and Plasma Cannons (Clan) would be a nice addition to the game.

HAGs, Chemical Lasers, and maybe even Improved Heavy Lasers could be neat as well.

HAGs imo would give a bit more variety to heavy ballistic builds for clans, as they get very heavy and very very slot-hungry.
The lasers would maybe be a bit more passable on how interesting they would be, but I still think they would spice things up a bit.

Clan is by and far better mechs in MWO these days, IS just cannot put out the same damage per weight that clans can, then add the speed and the ranges its just no competition..

Clans poor heat is so easy to exploit its meaningless.. I mean two to three 70 dmg alphas in 3-4 secs nothing IS can compete.

I am not sure if the Clan 'Mechs need even better laservomit options.

TSEMP cannon, Clan Hyperassault gauss, thunderboltmissiles ...
binary laser ..

maybe IS-MMLs (though like with ATMs and most autocannons i´d rather have actual ammotypes you could switch between but good luck with that inclusion)

MAYBE light ac2 and ac5 ... chemical lasers and mechrifles

more armor types: reflective, reactive, heavy ferro, HARDENED armor ..

and finaly .. IS Omnimechs, yes even if there is unchangeable XL engines ..

If all these new tech arrives at least then i'd be able to run the IS crab variant i like finally.

CRB-54
This Crab variant uses a composite internal structure and a 350-rated XXL fusion engine to reach speeds of 110 km/h. A Supercharger allows it to sprint at 140 km/h which is good for leaving the field when its armor is breached. Main firepower comes from a pair of plasma rifles supported by an ER medium laser and an ER Small Laser.

These alternative armor types are not useful as you think.

For example, they were available in MechWarrior 4 and yet, I went through the game on the first play with standard and ferro-fibrous armor. Why? Because you can never know what opposition you will face. Imagine equipping reflective armor with all its disadvantages, only to find out that almost all enemy 'Mechs are running autocannons and gauss rifles ...

Good point. IMO they would mainly be useful if everyone knew what maps they could be getting into. Reflective armor could be nice on colder maps because you could expect people to use more energy weapons. With that said, it would still be a gamble.

Now hardened armor and ferro-lamellor could be pretty interesting, as their positive and negative aspects don't relate to what the enemy is taking.

It is difficult to discuss these alternative types of armor because we can not know how PGI would implement them.

Having entered with MW2: 31st Century and going from there, I have always found myself predisposed to Clan technology.

I use both techbase but the number of clanner designs are dominates my hangar. I use IS mechs in QP or in EQ. For FP clan-stuffs all the way.
Or I use IS mechs when got tired that "Conan has troubles with dumping" (really, clanners are not Conan-clones with constipation, damn who used such voice for them!). And maybe out of place but how can I change bitching betty? Conan annoys me with every day more and more...

If it would be true! But clans were nerfed to the ground and thus the two sides now quite balanced (in FP they are, QP depends on players\groups setup). You see if omnimechs would be as good as they in BT then noone could stand a real chance against a dozen of them...
