There are tons of sniper mechs in the top tiers over at Grimmechs and hundreds more sniper builds done by the streamers on twitch and youtube. Yet I don't see you guys crying in their comments sections.

I run an open challenge in QP, you see me, call me out. None of that pre-building for a 1v1 min-max try harding nonsense.

Unfortunately Proto only plays QP on his super-secret-nobody-knows-who-I-really-am account because he's scared of being called out.

He only plays on this account when he's got 11 buddies standing at his back.

No, the three matches I played against randoms I won, even though I was playing a light mech to give dude a fair chance after slapping him silly with the actual mech I use in that div.

I am merely pointing out I only got to play the intended participant twice.

Lol, there aren't "Tons of snipers in the top tiers of grimmechs"

In fact in the QP Tiers S and A there aren't really any except for the Warhawk I guess, but that one is still built around DPS over range.

The 'mechs are split by divisions. Claiming you picked a light mech for a fair fight, is a stretch. It's not like you took a Raven up against a Cyclops; FYI, I have taken that challenge. Said raven for reference (and referential to OP) lulz.

I was out-tonned, out-gunned and the guy was hiding with his back to a wall. By your definiton I was pooling armour to deny him the win or would you prefer I pusha pusha pusha... wait. that's right, when you do it, it's smart, when anyone else does it, it's dumb....

no one's saying long range builds are off-limits, just that you need to actually contribute in a meaningful way. that doesn't mean that you need to be at the front of the pack, but you need to take up good positions where you can provide overwatch or consistently harass the enemy team, as well as bring enough firepower that they can't ignore you without consequence.

I took a Flea after previously playing an SRM Blackjack 2 in Div 6. Both are under toned. The fle especially is very vulnerable to the types of mediums that play in Div 6 even now. (Of the randos I fought an ac20 hunchback which is capable of one shotting, and is too short to hug, and a pulse laser phoenix hawk, which is not at all a fair fight for a fragile 20 tonner. I beat them both.)
