Especially the 3 that are already in.

The Raven? Its literally a bird
Posted Image

The Cataphract? some pigeon toes there for sure.
Posted Image

The Catapult?? That thing is avian as heck.

All these boyos have some serious chicken legs going on.

So riddle me this: why are you Liao forum types all so opposed to birds when all your faction Battlemechs™ are some rear-canted, beaked up multi-ton stompy fowl?

Aren't around 1/3 of all mechs chickenwalkers? I know that some guy at the CBT site once counted them.

?

I was talking about the 'Mechs that matter, the 'Mechs that are literally in the game, that have names. that are not random sketches.

Ok...

Look at the Raven? Does it seem Liao to you? It's Davion.

Catapult is widespread mech. And we can't build any at the moment+ it was designed by Star League, not us.

Cataphract is also Davion, because they hold Tikonov. And it doesn't look more like a bird than you or I do.

Mechs that matter at this time are: Blackjack and Vindicator.
They are our scouts, fighters, brawlers, support, garrison and basically everything you can think of... :)

ahah YO:

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Raven:

The Raven is a technological marvel and employs a large number of advanced electronic warfare systems, possibly making it the most advanced light 'Mech on the field, at least in detection and targeting equipment. It was first built by the Capellan Confederation as an electronics test bed unit that was pushed into combat during the Fourth Succession War, when the Federated Suns made a concentrated effort to destroy the Liao state.

Yo:

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Catapult:

The Catapult is heavily used by the Capellan Confederation

AHA yo:

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Cataphract:

The Cataphract was originally designed and prototyped as a Capellan Battlemech™

The 'mechs that matter at this time are the ones literally in the game, right now, with concept art and models not what some dudes in the 80's said in some $50 sourcebook.

THe "chickenleg" design is used to support a mech in certain ways to allow better movement over terrain, hence why so many mechs have it. It also goes with certain design types. THe Raven being named after a bird etc.

Take it from teh strategic perdpective. When they developed the new mechs, they already had many plants making Catapults. It's therefor logical to use a design using as much from the one you already have as possible, especially when you're in a bad situation.

I wouldn't say that the MWO Cataphract looks much like a bird, bird legs aside. But the original CTF-1X....well, thats another story:

Even the current Cataphract doesn't look like a bird, but he "has a point" with raven. :D

If you wanna get technical, there would be no
stock design or look for the Cataphract since
they were all originally "Frankenstein" mechs.
It's how Liao could produce so many of them
by using salvaged Mech Parts.

And the Raven, even post-clans, is almost a
Capellan only Mech

That 'mech has a name pal, it's the Vindicator. It's a Capellan 'mech, not some sketch, and the artist of said sketch is churning out the ' mechs that matter ' for this game. It's a hell of a fine 'mech too.
Also, your posts seem fairly ignorant, especially for a Capellan. You new to BT? Or are you trolling just to troll.
This game would not be here at all if not for the base BT franchise started way back in the 80's

I love my chickenwalker Raven...

You also have to remember, reverse joints are stronger than standard joints. They form a triangle and you cant really squash one that well. So they are good for lots of weight.

Dunno about you, but my legs are plantigrade. The Cataphract is still a digitigrade (chicken-walker) machine.
