Don't you find, that such a 'roleplaying' in choosing your 'Mech is kinda silly? Choose the weapon better suits your style & abilities rather trying to follow some fluffy lore. If Devs don't fool us, choice of faction native 'Mechs would be done naturally by pilots wallets & some other in-game mechanics. Bring honor for your House by victories, not by roleplaying (:

Well, the mech of my choice is usually equipped with the weapon that suits my style and abilities. ;)

Problem is, that I have no way of choosing mech on some "suityness" (my own word ;) ), so only way to choose mech for me right now is find the prettiest mech of my tonnage (strong mediums/ weak heavies) and live in hope it makes it into the game. Then, when the game releases, I will take another mech as a temporary solution and wait for the implementation of my desired mech. I know it is foolish, but what else can I do?

So, for this forum we seem to have come to the conclusion that the Raven, Vindicator, and Cataphract are Capellan. Now can we go about getting a confirmed list from game developers for Capellan mechs?

If I remember right the Centurion and Trebuchet were both heavily used in by the cappies.

Not Quite. The Centurion's claim to fame is as the "unofficial" mech of House Davion, the main production plant being on the capitol world of New Avalon. The Trebuchet is produced in Marik space, interstingly enough, by the same company that makes the Centurion as they were intended to work together.

Plus plans for Marik Battlemasters and Wolverines (aquired by Max Liao during the Marik civil war), though I don't know if they were even produced within the Confederation.

Interesting point about the Battlemaster. It looks like the Capellan factory was destroyed during the Second Succession war, along with a Highlander production line.

The Wolverine was in production on Nanking, but the planet was lost to the Federated Commonwealth during the Fourth Succession War, much like the Victor plant on Sarna, et cetra. Likewise, Tikonov had a whole series of lines that were all destroyed to prevent their capture, leaving only the Cataphract in production. Interestingly, this included the Thug, which is likely a design presently favored by Chancellor Romano Liao's inner circle of loyal retainers. ;)

I am surprised nobody has mentioned this yet but i remember seeing the Dola in an obscure tech readout once and is a weird but fun looking CC design.

Looks like we don't get the fancy stuff until late in the day. Y'know, I hadn't even heard of that Dola - probably 'cos I played mainly in the 3025 era through to just post Clan invasion. In the era we're talking about here our staple mechs are the Raven, Cataphract and Vindicator aren't they? With Catapult and Urbanmech rounding out the ranks. Of course, additionally there's all the salvaged mechs from the long list of victories...

Thats at least the mechs that are manufactured within the Confederation. Though I doubt Liao players will be limited to them, think they will just be a bit cheaper for us compared to designs from the other states.

I just hope we will get Shadow Hawk by 3050, when we, Mariks and Steiners start producing a new variant of it, so I may get hold of one. ^_^

The hope never dies.

Though I fear that if we really get to see unseens in MWO, they will look extremely different to the ones we are used to.

I propose:

If Shadow Hawks make it in game
And
you can't get them at the start
And
mech salvage is allowed
Then
We club together, beat up the first FedRat we see in one, take his ride, paint it green and give it to Adridos

to take that a step further ...
After we have given the Hawk to Adridos, we will put him and his mech into a green cake and send them as a surprise to the former owner of the mech. When Adridos and his mech come back, we will celebrate the beating of the poor FedRat with another cake.

Wouldn't it be more smart to let Adridos (I don't know why I always think of Adidas when I read his name ^^) simply capture the planet where the Shaodw Hawk is being built? You know the old saying...if a man hungers and you give him a fish, he is staisfied for a day. But if you teach him how to catch that fish... ^_^

Is Adridos that bad in a Shadow Hawk? Does he realy need a whole planet and its production capacities to cover his fails?

You never know before you try out. This saying covers it nicely.
