If their are suggestions of mechs to be seen in MWO, than these are the IS and Clan mechs I want to see.

Inner Sphere Mech
When it comes to these types of mechs, it's only obvious that I point these out due to the fact that since Harmony Gold has been curb-stomped, they can't go after PGI or BattleTech anymore. So I say just release the unseens and make them reseen!

So I just popped my head back into the forums for the first time in like......2 years? Overall I am excited that PGI is breathing some life into MWO, which has brought me back. I did not leave because I did not like the game play, but life's priorities shifted. So Im excited to be back.

I am also excited because Daeron is working on this and I know he really cares about this IP. I believe he will take what we think seriously, even if in the end somethings we want are just not doable. I'm looing foreword to the round tables.

Now I have to digest everything in his bullet list. I have one questions on this item:

Update Trial 'Mechs (regularly with appropriate consultation)

What is meant by "appropriate consultation"?

As far as I can find, the only time the SRM was in the Wasp's Left Leg was in the original 3025 TRO- everything I've got after that has the SRM and any other weapons in mostly the right torso but occasionally the left torso- even when they're talking about the model from the 3025 TRO. Can someone verify that the more modern TRO 3025 does or doesn't make the same change?

Using the heavy metal pro program for mech construction, you can see the wasp 1a, 1d and 3w all have leg mounted weapons... the 1a has srm2, 1d has flamer and the 3w carries 2 small lasers, all 3 variants use the left leg to hold them

I would like to see new players start with a free mech once they've done the cadet training. A solid medium or heavy they can use while learning the game. Nothing fancy, but with a decent load out and it will be something to earn xp in.

I like this idea. Throw a couple 45, or maybe 50 ton mechs in there as an option. Give them a choice of an IS , or a clan 45 (or 50, 55) tonner. Once you finish your cadet training, pick a mech. Maybe throw in a few skill points for that mech to get them started as well. Get them started in tier 4 or 5. Just do something to try and retain them, rather than make the cannon fodder.

Thats some thing better match making could fix
Cowards vs Cowards
Scrub talking pilots vs Scrub talking pilots

Equipment balance and content will never fix that
But better match making can

If they added a lobby browser with respawning options and progression enabled in the custom lobbies I'd be interested in re-downloading. I'd rather log in to GameRanger and boot up MW4M than spend minutes in queue for a single round of no-respawn deathmatch only to get pounded with LRM spam. At least MW4M respects my time.

Options could include limited/unlimited respawns using the drop deck, min/max tonnage requirements, team/free-for-all, no-heat/unlimited-ammo. Assault-mech-only slugfests don't even exist in this game currently.

Talk of rescaling and additional variants?!: is it possible scaling down the MASSIVE gunarm of the Dragon, variants without lower arm actuators and high mounted right arms in the works ;)

8 vs 8 as a quick play option, I would not suggest. Especially for those just coming into the game. 8 vs 8 when it was active, is a lot more competitive than 12 vs 12 quick play. I would say to add 8 vs 8 as a quick play option, or bring it back as solely premade groups, but, I would not recommend it as the only option.

Skill tree. Were there are flat ends, you should be able to connect them. Rather than for example, the axillary nodes, only wanting heat sinks, we are forced to take either arty, or UAV nodes... This is something that I truly hate...

Do not make faction play an event based thingy. Sure, make it to were faction play is included into the daily, weekly challenges if you will to get more people over there... I personally hate quick play, but, due to limited available time I don't want to sit in que for an hour to play 1 run, then off to bed to go to work. I do play daily, so long as I can!

****, lost my log book! How many hours do I have? When do I need to start rolling again!!! Gah, piss on it, time to blow **** up!

Hey Daeron,
Please add secondary matchmaker balancing to the list. There are too many games recently (win and losses) with 4-6 well known players on one side (not grouped) and Twelve T3 randoms on the other side OR 4 assault mechs on one side and 0 on the other. Some balancing beyond a PSR range would be helpful in generating closer matches.

Oh, at the moment you can farm 5 Mechbays per faction in faction warfare...
And stuff like a "Gazelle Dropship statue (250 MCs)", a "Cup of Pop" (500 MC), a "Lucky Cat" (500 MC) and the best reward ever: a "Hamster Huey" (750 MC), oh, and in between ONE!!!!111 banner of your faction...
Can't get that in Quick play, and has nothing to do with the faction you chose. In fact: it's sensible to switch faction to farm Mech Bays...

Faction rewards I: PGI make them related to the faction!
Faction Banners, Faction Decals (like the "Sword of Light" or "Legion of Vega" for Kurita), Faction Names, even Faction Warhorns for higher faction ranks.

Yes, I realize that you, as a player, can get loyalty rewards per faction - which are exactly the same per faction, as you pointed out. That was not what I meant - I meant faction-specific rewards. How about those faction camos? Faction-specific colors? Faction-specific mechs (variants)?

In addition, cockpit items (other than warhorns) are not that important to me specifically - no one else sees them but me. Camo and paint colors, everyone sees, so they have real value IMHO.

Units used to get MC. Said MC can be distributed to unit members (but not c-bills in unit coffers - ??? WTF). Now, units can't earn MC anymore, so units don't get any rewards at all now. Reinstate that. If not for occupying a planet, then for each match victory. Allow units to purchase mechs, weapons, consumables, camo, colors, etc. to then give to unit members as rewards.

Hey PGI did I mention how XP and CBill cockpit items make Everything else Useless!

Here's how I as a XP and Cbill buff owner see cockpit items.
Either apply the stupid buffs (which I paid cash for FYI) to all my mechs without installing in cockpits.

Or give me option to Never see scroll-happy time-wasting non-buff garbage items in my cockpit again.
ie. sort by: O sale O owned O sale [X] BUFFED

Well that's just my personal take on buff items I've had for years...
Yes I was away for a year but playing daily again and just a week later, I'ma hater again!!!

By the way, I thought here ... If the developers do not have enough ideas for events ... Maybe it is worth celebrating the birthday of a particular fur? For example, Jenner's IIC release took place on 10.10.15, then maybe it is worth celebrating his birthday with some small event on October 10th every year?
Or you can do a little differently. Schedule an event "Party of the born .... (month)". We collect all the mechs, the release of which took place, for example, in May, and celebrate their birthday with one event in May.

For helping the performanc of slower PCs the game should disable "Cockpit Glass", "Cockpit Huds" and "Damage Glow" per default.

Particles are also a performance killer and should be set to low with the exception of "PPC trails" that look utmost ugly on low and should have an extra step to enable/disable.

I got bored tonight, sat down and did this as most of us complain about it.

239 total nodes currently.
52 total nodes without the JJ tree
56 total nodes with the JJ tree. < rather see this removed and global buff to JJ's

There are two ways we can all look at this. 1) Have PGI pick a number of skill points were allowed.
2) This will be the new "Mastery System" where we unlock all the nodes once and were done with it.
3) With either option chosen, we should not have to follow a certain line, just pick whatever nodes we need.
The 2nd option is what I'm most hoping for. I also imagine the %'s would have to be tweaked?, but I think it's a start. I cut down the number of nodes the best I could. Thoughts? For me right off the bat I see this could help a ton with Mobility across the board.

Will post this in an official thread about the skill tree if we get one as well.

Some notes:
- Gauss is disconnected from AC nodes, and so is Mag Cap. What if I ran an AC only or AC/Energy build?
- Armor Hardening should only be dependent on Reinforced Casing, and vice-versa.

I could go on, but those two had me concerned the most. This will need to work in the format of start from any node/multiple nodes and work inward.

Additionally, new weapon types like Chem Lasers, Arrow/Thunderbolt, maybe even grenade/mortar/artillery style weapons will definitely change the dynamics to make players think before just running into a furball...

Go back to page 9 at the bottom. Maybe that's something you could get behind?

Definitely a step in the right direction. How would that concept look like if merged into one single tree?

I think some nodes can be removed and be integrated into the mech baseline or the respective mech equipment completely, like:
  • Heat Containment or Cool Run (make only one skillable and integrate the other into the mech baseline or merge both, see below)
  • Enhanced ECM (ECM is basically useless without skilling this)
  • Reinforced Chasing
  • Hill Climb
  • Shock Absorbance
  • Quick Ignition
  • Speed Retention
  • The base number of consumable slots (everybody will skill this)
Some node types could be merged, for example:
  • Defense Upgrade (Armor Hardening + Skeletal Density)
  • Missle Upgrade (High Explosive + Missle Spread)
  • Improved Strike Support (Advanced Salvos + Enhanced Spotting)
  • Improved UAV (UAV Duration + UAV Range + Extra UAV)
  • Improved Coolshot (Enhanced Coolshot + Coolshot Cooldown)
  • Improved Sensors (Sensor Range + Target Info Gathering + Target Decay)
  • Improved Jump Jets (Heat Shielding + Vent Calibration + Vectoring + Speed Lift)
  • Leg Mobility Upgrade (Kinetic Burst + Hard Brake + Anchor Turn)
  • Torso Mobility Upgrade (Torso Yaw + Torso Speed + Torso Pitch)
  • Improved Cooling (Heat Gen + Cool Run)
There could be for example 1-5 nodes of each of the types above, to allow different levels of optimization while making the skill tree easier to understand.

i didnt notice until the second readthrough that removing ISXL side torso deaths was coupled with adding IS omnimechs. i really like that idea. not only would it allow some of my favorite mechs to be added without being dead on release (hauptman and sunder, omni blackjack varients :3 ), itll really shake up the meta for the innersphere.

maybe consider clan xxl's too for funsies if you do a tech advancement. give both tech trees a shake, instead of just the innersphere.
