1. possibility to sell cockpit items (I'm sure I will NEVER use some);
2. ability to use c bills (instead of mc) for xp conversion, just like many other purchase.
Thanks for any attention.
Greetings.

The lack of monetized UI is currently a huge wasted opportunity IMO - even selling something as small as alternate "bitchin' betty" soundpacks would be attractive for a lot of players. I count myself among the numbers too lazy/afraid to mod the game with alternate soundpaks and UI, and a paid alternative with the same standard of quality as the rest of the game would go a long way. not sure if it's possible at this stage of the game's lifecycle or if it's even worth it dependant on the amount of hours that would have to go into rewriting but it would definitely be neat.

Alternative sound packs, though - that's something people already do for themselves. If they've put enough effort to make and install their own, there's probably a market in there somewhere.

Step 1.
Optional monthly subscription - Gives "Citizen" Title, Ability to vote on the future Development roadmap for next year, by voting on (staff picked) public forum suggestions for further game development. (top 5 are posted for the public to promote...see step 2), Some minor monthly free swag in-game.
Step 2.
Donate to develop system. Once the top 5 suggestions have been picked by Citizens they are each posted on the website with a big DONATE button and a graphic that shows how much has been donated so far (updated live) and a fiscal goal to make the suggestion happen.... like a thermometer filling up or something more cool. Also a leaderboard showing who has made the most contributions as well as a rank number. Highest ranked donators get a title at the end of the year.
Step 3.
Game economy that includes things like Cost of travel to get into battle, ammo, repairs, etc.
Step 4. Personal avatars, and all the cosmetic goodness that comes with it that players love to pay for. Also places for players to visit like bars, race tracks, unit bases, Discount Dan's Mech store, The Solarius arena Mechwarrior pub where you can review fights, or spectate live fights.
Step 5.
Unit development. Starting a new unit costs MC (all pre-existing units are grandfathered).
Merc units have repair and ammo costs, but can choose what battles to fight and can purchase/earn/salvage any mech.
Loyalist fighters pick a house or clan and don't have any say about what battle they fight. Likewise loyalist units can only use mechs from their house or clan according to lore.
Unit leaders can spend C-Bills and MC from unit coffers on any Unit member. Units get the option of building a base. Bases are placed on planets. Planets closer to the war front afford cheaper travel costs to get into battle, but also run the risk of being overrun and destroyed, bases farther from the front are safer from destruction but cost more to get into battle. Loyalist units can only place bases inside their own faction's territory. Mercenary units can place a base anywhere they have a contract with and can place a unique base called a forward position so long as they have a main base established.
With the addition of bases you can also add assets that are already in-game to allow a unit to decorate the base, add to the number of mech bays, interior rooms, and all those good Cosmetics players love to pay for.
Likewise loyalist units have dropships and jumpships provided at no cost, whereas Mercs have to either buy a dropship, and/or jumpship, negotiate a ride with whomever their contract is with, or pay Comstar for a ride.
Step 6.
Let players bet on the outcome of Solaris fights in the Solaris Arena Bar.
If you make less than 4 million dollars in the first year I would be amazed.

Literally every suggestion in that post either requires huge amounts of money in development and ongoing costs (who's going to host the match recordings that we're reviewing, for example?) - or else is a bug-eyed crazy idea that will spark player rebellion and drive people away in droves. Or both.
Even the stuff I'd consider buying, like official alternate sound packs, would essentially be a high-risk gamble on the part of PGI. You'd have to develop those sound files, add them to the game for everyone, and then make them server-side authoritative? Somehow? Otherwise you'll have one guy in a guild buy a sound pack, copy out the files, and distribute it to all his friends on Discord.
Stuff like this is more complicated - and expensive - than a lot of people realize. Studmuffin up there has played too many gacha games on his phone.

I know that this is probably wishful thinking, but as an older player who left and recently came back, I have to say that I love this game and would love to see it continue to grow and thrive. I've been a BattleTech fan from the early days of BattleTech 2nd edition and TRO 3025. PGI, if you are reading this, thank you for all of your hard work and passion for BattleTech and MechWarrior.

For mechs you can click and get a drop down menu to light, med, heavy, assault, etc. Why isn't there a cosmetics drop down with camo patterns, colors, cockpit items, and bolt-ons?
League is another free to play game and they make an obscene amount of money primarily on cosmetics sales. New champions (equivalent of new mechs) are known to perform very poorly in terms of monetization, and are mostly used to keep gameplay fresh.
Add cosmetics to the main shop, put them in some sort of rotation with the regular sales to capitalize on FOMO. Print money.
I like this game and want it to do well, but I feel like PGI is leaving profit on the table here.
