Fully flesh out the Item Cache concept that was previously abandoned a few years ago. It's already partially implemented, just put it into the Store as previously discussed. Heck, you could even add a small 1-0.5% chance for a player to get a free Random Hero mech from a Legendary Cache. Tiered caches costing MC would help keep the lights on and the servers running.

Are you suggesting to implement gambling and lottery? Just so you know, the first iteration of Supply Caches was removed because it violated EU laws regarding gamling and lottery.

Gacha mechanics are manipulative and prey on gambling addictions. Whether they're really gambling is beside the point; I don't think the game will be improved by them - particularly at this juncture, and with the structure of the game being what it is.

Vix, slavery was once legal throughout what is now the "developed world." It very much does matter.

I think he meant that loot boxes are now legally considered Gambling (which we all kind of knew anyway that it was thinly excused before hand), and that if MW:O wants to continue to operate in the EU (which they do, I am sure), they can't do Loot Boxes as an alternative means of income.
AKA: It use to be legal (like your proposed slavery example), but is now illegal.
Honestly though, I don't even know why Loot Boxes got brought up... Then again, this is an old thread with a lot of out of date information in the start. You know, what MW:O and PGI was looking to consider doing for monetization in... 2021...

This was all old news from the business end of MWO; my point was that the question of whether gacha mechanics are really gambling is separate from the question of whether they're legally gambling. Law does not dictate fact.

MWO 2 hasn't ever been announced, that I know of. Right now, I don't think anything will be in the works - but Battletech/Mechwarrior is a good IP, able to rise almost from the dead because of a small but fanatical fanbase. That's how HBS' Battletech got off the ground, and between that and the amazing art team from this game, the tabletop franchise rose from the dead.
So, I'm sure we'll get an MWO II equivalent sometime - maybe not from this studio, and maybe not soon, but I'm confident.
