I love it :)

Stay low in the channels don't push into the open. Poke only on the sides of the channels unless you have top mounted weapons. If you have short range weapons just wait because the end almost always turns into a bawl.

Polar isn't even close to the worst. Viridian Fog and Forest Colony are terrible both visually and from a map design perspective.

It's not really that bad, there's lots of soft-cover, there's lot of room to maneuver.

No, but if you ask really nicely, next Christmas PGI may use only snowy maps during December and January.

Polar highlands is great. It advantages range, which balances out Solaris City. If maps that are skewed towards certain loadout styles are going to exist, then there needs to be ones representing all the major range brackets and weapons. We pretty much have that.

What would be nice is if we didn't get duplicate maps. Its not fun when forest colony classic and forest colony classic (snow) come up and the vote splits between them, meaning they lose to some other map. Its effectively getting penalized for a skin. (Same with Frozen City classic/night).

I see that as a great advantage, because Forest Colony blows :P

Can we maybe stop whining about this map or that map and maybe learn to adjust ones play mechanics to compliment the gameplay environment?

We have a finite number of maps to begin with and removing one or more because it's irritating is just being obtuse...

its only a fight around the Little Round Top ,with to small places and no Place for Movement like the most Maps of PGI-Modelrailway-Maps

I'm a big fan of forest colony, sorry. I prefer the classic and classic snow as they are smaller. The regular is too big and most doesn't get used.

I think Polar has a lot of potential. It's a fun map to fight on, but it could also generate a couple different, new-ish maps with some reskinning. It could easily become desert sand dunes or rolling farmland with some alternate textures applied.

Forest classic definitely needs a removal of the blurring effect that was installed just to make it so you can't see anything. Classic Frozen is the same way. It's unnecessarily filtered just to make your life annoying. PGI needs to abandon the concept of blocking player vision artificially. If your map is so poor that you have to add bad filtering just to prevent people from shooting all of the way across it, the map itself needs fixing, not the filters.

That's a good idea. With the addition of some rocks or something (but no huge central feature) it could be an easy way of making a new map.

However, there is a small problem: Russ Bullock would have to want to do that ...

It just needs a revamp. more buildings/mountains/wrecks and it would be great.. The whole open almost flat terrain is pretty tired, and really boring to play on..

Also the fact its 99.9% domination gets old as well.

A lot of maps would be so much better without the horrible pointless fog.. and some heat removal.

They are actually my fav maps, i detest Tourmaline, Plexus and Rubellite.. But i still play them.

I've not seen Alpine, Caustic and Terra in weeks..

That said i wish they'd add Faction war maps to Quickplay.

People want brawling, apparently

PGI should remove one leg from all mechs to discourage nascar
And enable lock on for guass rifles

Brawling is a lot more fun.. I detest lrms honestly its the most boring mechanic standing there watching tiny missiles go over and hope the little cross goes red..

Seriously i'd rather die in a mechs face than shoot missiles from the back all game.
